♞ My power lived in greedy hearts Shadow - light - nothingness Towering above the town of Schloßstadt, Itoukagi observed one building in specific. Crowning the old city surrounded by woods was a castle. It overlooked the area but was more than a defense posture from a passed era. It was an expression of overlordship and intellectual domain. Its towers were not only broad, but also tall, to be closer to the stars. But there was one closer to the closest of satellites in the sky: Hakaiji Itoukagi, Bringer of Moonlight. When he'd set out to begin this journey toward past moments, three days had been the mark of time. The finding of this place had consumed an ample amount, leaving him with only one night to complete the task given to him. Poetic justice, perhaps. Or tragedy. The night was his time. Hidden within light that no eye other than his sword could see, Itoukagi waited, despite his lack of time. With the moon big in the sky, a cloudless night, a nightly wanderer touched down upon his shoulder. The dark bird's crowing did not go unheard. Jumping off the post that held him, the artificial, human body that contained his soul headed toward a moving car. A timing of perfection allowed the dark-haired body to slide in through the opened roof window, landing upon a seat within the limousine as though he'd been driving alongside the three people inside from the beginning. "..Professor!" the voices of the aware guards shouted, but wasn't it a bit too late? The threat among them, one suffered a knife to the throat, stabbed into his jaw from below, while the other was held at bay by the fact that the man he was supposed to protect was being threatened at gunpoint, with a pistol the new appearance had wrestled from the dead guard before either had been able to blink. The Professor, a man a good twenty years away from the end of his life, looked not surprised. As though he was someone that had meddled with a matter that made him realize, thanks to his intellectual prowess, that one day a reaper would come to demand the price for his insolence. And yet, he had surrounded himself with guards: he wanted to live. "Continue on your way," the Professor dictated the driver, through the closed separation of cockpit from cabin, as instructed by the Shinigami by his side, and the cold steel of a gun to his temple. A highly explosive cocktail of possible violence kept on rolling through the nightly town of Schloßstadt, until the very castle for which it was named opened its gates, allowing inside the man responsible for the research conducted within: Professor Grimwald Kastenberg. The moment the facility had been penetrated, the car coming to a halt, the gun that had been taken from the dead guard, only to be pointed at the Professor, was reaimed at the remaining guard. The Starscream's armour-piercing rounds tore throught he man up front, and then the cabin separation, killing the driver. "Such a crude weapon.." Itoukagi considered, throwing the Vatican-styled weaponry toward the floor of the car. Placing his palm on the back of the Professor's neck, he shoved the man out. "Will you kill me?" ... "I will kill everyone. But not tonight." #something #something #something |
