Exploring The Seireitei [CLOSED]

It wasn't often that the Fifth's lieutenant found himself bored without work, but as of late the man was swamped with NOT A DAMN THING. The amount of paperwork flying in had been less than existent, which he had no qualms with, it'd been weeks since he so much as even seen a Hollow, and had been quite some time since he received an order from the captain. All in all, Kosuke enjoyed this period of tranquility, though the current events in the world nagged at his very neck.

Soothing breezes of fresh winds blew gently through the fukutaicho's short emerald locks as he sat cross-legged in a field of flowers. The man often sought refuge here, close to the second squad's barracks, whenever he was without work. 

Dressed in a dazzling turquoise robe which he wore off duty, Kosuke breathed out billows of smoke from a thin pipe. If ever there was a day to do nothing, today was the day as the sun shone brilliantly over the Seireitei without a single cloud. The man enjoyed peace. Before he could take another drag from the pipe Kosuke was alerted to the sounds of someone nearing from behind. Out here on a perfect day it wasn't uncommon for anyone to bask in the light among the flowers.

"Yo" he called to the other Shinigami whom he had never seen before. As much of a social person as he was, Kosuke was still horrible with names and faces. "Come to chill in the fields?"

Although he wasn't one to really place judgement on others, especially comrades, a nagging feeling voice tugged at the back of Kosuke's psyche. THIS GUYS AN ASS the voice whispered. "My duties have been long since completed if it was any of your concern, Hisashi" the Kyuu's name sliding out with just a hint of poison, though the short grin spread across the Ryuugamine's face showed otherwise.

Ai. The name hadn't rang a bell. Besides the captain and lieutenant, members of the second division weren't incredibly social. Hell, just about every damn veiled face in the Onmitsukido looked exactly the same to Kosuke. It was whatever though, Ai at least seemed to give off the impression of a carefree gent as opposed to Hisashi."Nice to meet 'cha Ai."

As a fellow Shinigami, Kosuke wasn't one to turn away another, no matter what he thought of them. He hadn't yet formed an opinion of Hisashi, but he could tell the man worked his ass off. Respectable. A spark of amusement shot through Kosuke's emerald gaze. Why was the other lieutenant asking such a question?

"I dunno to be honest..." he breathed, rising to his feet since he was the only one on the ground. "...his hair. It's a bit...ya know..." Kosuke stepped away from Ai and closer to Hisashi, folding his arms in front of his chest. "...hairy. And his figure. All the soldiers of the second have one and obviously he has one too...then again so do I...and oh look! So do you!" the last words fell out in a chuckle. Hopefully the fukutaicho could take a joke. "Wuddya think Ai?"

A chuckle managed to pass the pursed lips of the fukutaicho as he'd swipe another steal from his pipe. Hisashi didn't seem like the type to pass compliments, though the man's words sounded pretty freaking close so Kosuke would take it as such. For the time being everything was merry on the surface. The wind blew, flowers bloomed, and the three were relatively tranquil...but just how long would this last.

Deep down Kosuke feared the battles that were to come; of the lives lost, friends defeated in battle. Whoever said the storm brewing on the other side of the mountain even was going to be a battle...what if it was simply a total annihilation? As much as the idea spooked the fukutaicho, all he could do was prepare himself and the squad for whatever ordeals lay ahead.

So lost in his own thoughts, Kosuke allowed a huge cloud of smoke to take to the skies, seemingly listening to the two men conversate but deep down really hadn't heard a word. "If the situation on Earth get's any worse...if more humans are killed and more souls disappear, I fear more captains or squads will be dispatched to protect the humans. The numbers for protecting the Seireitei would certainly be thinned out and leave us open to attack in my opinion."

While he didn't hate the humans, the Ryuugamine saw the Seireitei as top priority. The Quincy had somewhat broken the pact by drawing their bows, but their arrows hadn't been aimed at Shinigami...not until the Shinigami arrived on the scene.
