WE ARE AN AU NON-CANON BLEACH ROLE PLAY, and no, we won't die in a month. Our creators are very dedicated to this project and are here to provide you with an easy-flowing, member-driven plot system. With an easy-to-understand ranking system as well as the ability to start out at higher ranks with custom characters, we hope to place more focus on plotting and writing than tedious gradings and inefficiency. so much had happened. it seemed so surreal. new york, while not wiped off the face of the earth, was still torn completely apart. people were dead. buildings were demolished. all because of those damn quincy! what did the big apple do to them, anyway? did they eat a bad hotdog or something? well, that was just something that had to accept! you don't just eat a hotdog made by some guy on a street corner and think your stomach is gonna make it out okay. no way was it so bad that they had to destroy the best place on earth!

but what really crushed chameru was that she couldn't do a thing about it. she couldn't stop even one of them. she was a vice-captain, dammit! she should have been able to do something, but she knew she wouldn't have even been able to leave a scratch on the archery demons. she probably would've been killed. and that stung. that really, really stung.

alone in the dangai, her giggly facade finally began to crack. her seemingly permanent smile dropped and tears started to pour from her eyes. the shinigami didn't hold back. she cried, she whimpered, her nose ran. the works. it was so embarrassing, but she couldn't stop! she didn't really want to. she didn't want anyone to see her like this, no way. so it was better to get it all out now when it was only her and her hell butterfly. he wouldn't tell anyone. it would be there little secret.

everyone needed to cry sometimes, right?

Her tears brought sound to a world of silence.

A shadow moved through the walls of the dangai. Bones crunched underfoot as it took its place before the shinigami’s path. It did not move, not an inch, and the hood thrown up obscured the entirety of the face in shadow.

“Do you cry because you are weak?”

The voice was inhuman. It was two-tone; part of it sounded like a male, but the other half was nothing less than a demon. This shadow exuded no presence and gave off no aura. It merely existed as a shade in a world of twisted space and distorted time.

her scream was accompanied by a small jump backwards, away from the hooded figure; reflexively, her right hand gripped at her zanpakuto while the sleeve of her left was raised to tissue her sobbing face clean. although she hadn't managed to compose herself fully, she still felt like maybe she looked fit enough to be at least a little threatening. maybe.

er. more importantly!

"who the heck are you?!"

so many questions were running through her head right now. like, "who?" and "what?" and even "huh?" and "how?" seriously! who was this guy? how did he get into the dangai? what did he know about her? and why was his voice so freaky?! there were so many things she felt she needed to ask him. but the faster her thoughts raced, the more she understood what was really troubling her. it was something she hadn't felt before - well, no time before the incident in new york city, anyway.

she realized that her biggest concern wasn't actually about the man's identity: it was "if i need to, could i even survive against him?"

it was unlike her to feel so helpless, and yet...here she was.

and so her grip on the handle of her sword loosened slightly. her stance became a little less guarded. her eyes, ever so slightly, were cast down to the ground. there were no further inquiries, just an answer to the man's question. "...yeah...i am...i am weak..."

If the shadow cared about her sword or questions, it was impossible to tell. Even in the face of steel as sharp as that of a zanpakutou, it did not move an inch.

“A time will come,” that voice spoke again, chilling but wise, “where the powers of your soul will fall.”

The shadow moved forward a step at a time. “Your body will break,” the bones crunched, “your mind will shatter,” it was a solid twenty meters away from Fuun, “and your sword will rust.”

In the blink of an eye--no, faster then that--the shadow was standing before her. It loomed over the petite vice-captain like a true god of death, intimidating and ominous. If Fuun was perceptive, she’d hear the faint beating of a heart thrumming in her ears.

“But if your resolve fails, so will the world’s.”

And then the shadow was gone, back in its original position. Before Fuun, resting on a pillow of bones, was a syringe filled with a liquid that glowed a brilliant blue. Touching it yielded the information that it contained the power of a quincy within, along with that of a human’s own. Its purpose, however, was unknown.

“Open up your soul to what’s inside, and you will be able to wipe away your own tears. Tell no one that you saw me, and your despair will never drown you again.”

chameru's raised her head at the sound of crunching bones, but her body remained paralyzed. or, was it just relaxed? she couldn't tell, but she shouldn't move. the words he spoke were terrifying. were they predictions? was chameru destined to die? she didn't want to die...

"your body will break, your mind will shatter, and your sword will rust."

she began to tremble, ever so slightly. she wanted to tell the creature to stop, but she couldn't find the words. then, before she had time to register what had happened, the creature was directly in front of her. fuun's big eyes widened, fearful. her breathing stopped. everything was silent, except for the man and the faint beating of his heart.

and just like that, he was gone. well, not gone gone. but he was no longer in front of chameru. she regained her ability to breathe, slowly but smoothly. in front of her was a shot, filled with a weird, blue fluid. her gaze moved between the syringe and the man, though she eventually decided to pick it up. she held it lightly between her fingers, examining it. studying it. it felt familiar - human. holy. definitely not shinigami.

"how...how did you get this? and what am i supposed to do with it? can't you tell me anything?!"

chameru knew better than to accept candy from strangers. even really creepy possibly future-telling ones who lived in the dangai. still, the man's words echoed in her mind. failing, dying, rusting. she didn't want any of that! and then the stranger spoke again.

“open up your soul to what’s inside, and you will be able to wipe away your own tears. tell no one that you saw me, and your despair will never drown you again.”

so...it would make her strong? strong enough to be useful? strong enough to never have to cry again? all of that, in this little blue vial...

“A soul does not trust a little shinigami yet.” The shadow turned, and began to walk back towards the walls of the dangai. “Earn this ones trust, and the little shinigami will be given all that she asks for, and more. Do not earn this ones trust, and life shall continue on until its bleak end.”

And with that, the shadow was gone, swallowed by the dangai once more. Fuun was left with no answers, more than likely, and only questions. That was unintended, for the only way to find the light was to search through the dark.

but it was too late. the shadowy creature of the dangai was already gone, leaving chameru and her hell butterfly alone once again. in her hands, she clutched the syringe, the shadow's voice echoing in her mind.

“earn this ones trust, and the little shinigami will be given all that she asks for, and more. do not earn this ones trust, and life shall continue on until its bleak end.”

what should she do? should she take the fluid to captain king, so that he could run a test or something? but, if she did that, who knew what would happen. the creature had said to tell no one of their conversation. wouldn't that break the trust? most definitely. but she couldn't take the syringe back to soul society, that was just as risky.

"i guess...i could..."

“open up your soul to what’s inside, and you will be able to wipe away your own tears..."

inhaling deep, chameru rolled up the sleeve of her shinigami uniform, and place the tip of the needle against her arm. what was she doing? was she crazy? desperate? both? ugh. no! there was no going back! she had to get stronger! she had to be useful! with another deep breath, the pink-haired vice captain jabbed the syringe into her arm, wincing as the needle penetrated the skin, and injected the blue liquid into her body.

she waited for the excruciating pain, for the skin to fall off of her bones, for her eyes to melt out of their sockets. but nothing. huh.

"are you kidding?! all of that scary talk and nothing even happened! what a jip!" wiping her eyes one last time, chameru pulled the syringe out of her arm and tossed the empty tube to the ground, crushing it beneath her foot. "come on, little butterfly. let's go home. we've been in the dangai for too long."

"stupid shadow man."
