斬魔刃・武雷
ZANMATACHI ・ TAKEMIKAZUCHIZanmatachi ・ Takemikazuchi (lit. Devil Slaying Sword: Warring Thunder) is the name of the Japanese Thunder God, and is also known as the God of Swords. The appearance of this blade is that of the "tachi" part of the sword with no hilt, only wrapped cloth around the base of the weapon. The blade and grip in total measures approximately five feet in length.
It is unknown whether or not the Asauchi created for Kariya was actually created or was gifted to him by some otherworldly means. Regardless, Takemikazuchi is regarded as the strongest offensive Zanpakuto Bankai in the history of Seireitei. With it's spiritual properties of imbuing the user with the spirit and perfect art of pure swordsman combat. The spirit of Takemikazuchi is similar to the old man spirit of Katanagatari, however, the scroll on the man's back has unfurled to reveal a recital of the tale of Izanagi slaying the fire deity Kagutsuchi.
- 斬神 ZANSHIN | Zanshin (lit. Slaying God) is the reason why Ryuugamine Kariya's zanpakuto is considered to be the strongest offensive zanpakuto in all of Seireitei. It is not so much a technique as it is a law. Zanshin conceptualizes applies an unnatural phenomenon that overrides reality by splitting anything it touches, regardless of material composition, and annihilates it utterly from all parallel universes and dimensions. In other words, it will cut anything it touches, no matter what worldly or otherworldly force it is. This property applies to only Kariya's release techniques and sword combat.
- 一剣 IKKEN | Another phenomenon in which Takemikazuchi applies is the concept of being "one with the sword." Based from the old adage that the sword is physical manifestation of the man's soul, and true mastery is to become one with the sword, in this case, Kariya's body literally becomes one with the sword, gaining the same capabilities as his sword. However, unlike Zanshin, which governs the perfect severing of an individual, the concept of Ikken essentially gives the physical body of Kariya the properties to that of sword, allowing his durability and physical body to become as sharp as his Bankai.
- 奥義 父の意志 OUGI: CHICHU'E NO ISHI | Borne from the desire to protect his family and his overwhelming devotion to Tsukinode Haruna and any future children he may have, this technique was conceptualized by the concept of the sword "as a means to protect that which is important to you." Ougi: Chichu'e no Ishi (lit. Hidden Technique: Will of the Father) essentially creates an emotional bond so deep towards his family that his Zanpakutou and Asauchi resonate with his loved ones and potential children. Whenever on the brink of death, Kariya plunges his sword into his gut, purging all of his remaining spiritual energy into the asauch. In doing so, this physically ends Kariya's life. Kariya's physical body dies, but his spiritual bond with his family will allow them, in the times where they are in danger, to manifest a spiritual presence armed with a longsword. This spiritual presence has the abilities of both Katanagatari and Takemikazuchi, as well as possessing the skills of Ryuugamine Kariya while he was still alive. The spirit will continue to fight any oppositions which may attack their family, and will only be eliminated if it is struck a lethal blow. Kariya considers this to be the strongest move in his arsenal, because it truly protects what he values most.
