ALIAS: Rokubantai Third-Seat.
RACE: Shinigami.
AGE: One-Hundred, Seventy-Eight (178).
AFFILIATION: Seireitei, Gotei 13; Koshitsu, Sojiro
DIFFICULTY SETTING: Hard.
APPEARANCE: Not one to dress overly flashy, Oda usually chooses to don clothing that does not overly restrict his movements, instead preferring to be able to move around with ease and fluidity. As such, barring special fighting circumstances, he usually does not choose to wear armor, whether light or heavy. He simply dons the clothing that is customary to all Shinigami: a high collard black kimono, often times left parted, and black pants with white bandaged tape tied securely around both of his ankles.
Physicality wise, Oda stands at roughly the size and weight of an average man; he is neither bulky or scrawny, but well filled out. He sports long golden mane, often times curling upwards or to the side at their ends, which is roughly shoulder length when unkempt - if not tied into a ponytail.
PERSONALITY: A very stoic individual at his core, Oda is never one to allow his feelings or emotions to cloud his judgement, regardless of the circumstances. He prides himself on retaining this composure, and makes it a point to maintain this - helping aid his already logical and pragmatic approach to life. He doesn't believe in depending on theories and ideas, but rather focuses on things he knows to be concrete. Because of this he is a realist by nature, leaving him unable to accept things that tend to defy reality, but at the same time allowing him to make his decisions based off facts and not propaganda or misconceptions.
However, this is not to say that Oda is incapable of falling victim to the many vices of life. As a man, he is often times easily distracted by the beauty of women and is more than willing to chase after them playfully. He lets this playful, charming, side of himelf take over to remain loose, as opposed to always staying serious - but knows how to separate it and become stern, if the situation calls for it. In addition, he is extremely loyal to those that he considers his kin and is more than willing to defend them with his life. This includes his captain especially Sojirou, who he tends to be especially protective over, even in the face of death. Because of this he doesn't take disloyalty particularly well, leading him to dish out harsh penalties to those that betray him. His fellow shinigami are not exempt from this; betraying him or the division borders treason in his eyes, leaving only one option from there - death.
Despite his many responsibilities as the vice captain of division six, Oda is notably lazy, preferring to leave most of his work to the lower ranking members of the division. Hes not opposed to all the responsibilities though, and enjoys fulfilling his role as a vice captain when it comes to making major decisions regarding the division and most importantly, fighting. In battle, Oda chooses to take the tactical route as opposed to fighting brashly, and is more inclined to use strategies in his fights, but is more than capable of holding his own without them.
HISTORY: Unlike most, Oda never had the luxury of living a full healthy life as a human being. In fact, his life was cut short when he was very young, long before he had even reached puberty. Born as a sickly, barely living youth, Oda reached the prime age of four before succumbing to his body's inability to properly function. Because of this Oda never knew what it felt like to truly live, and that lack of experience is what led - and provided the spark - that fueled his eventual drive as a Shinigami.
Some time later, he found himself as a living soul and in a new body within the slums Rukongai. No longer trapped with the jails of his body, Oda sought to live his life to the best of his ability, and sought to increase his knowledge as his body grew in accordance. With no family, or even any friends for that matter, sustaining onto his new life was difficult. Food was scarce, help from others - whom were also struggling - was nearly nonexistent, and so there was a time that Oda believed he would once again not making it to adulthood. He had almost given up on life when he was found by Koshitsu, Sojiro - whom at the time was just making his name known throughout Seireitei.
Though just a child at the time, Sojiro took him under his wing, and for that Oda remained eternally thankful. Because of this, the loyalty he shows to his "mentor" is unparalleled, to the point where he is willing to lay down his life to his closest companion. Dare say, even though Oda's skill as a shinigami has him on levels that could eventually rival that of other captains, he has no desire to ever leave his position as near to Sojiro. Because of this, it's almost difficult to say where his allegiance truly lies: whether that's to his duties as a shinigami or his friend is unclear.
