ZANPAKUTOU NAME: Kakishibu (柿渋; lit. persimmon juice)
ZANPAKUTOU FORM: Kakishibu takes the form a plain wazikashi worn on Izumi’s hip. It has a yellow-wrapped hilt and a golden, rectangular guard. Few have ever seen it drawn or used in combat.
ZANPAKUTOU SPIRIT FORM: Kakishibu takes the form of a shade in a world of shadows. In the past he had a true form, one long forgotten now, and the world was full and vibrant. After Izumi was spiritually crippled, however, it all faded away. He appears now as a silhouette who can only communicate with emotions. Everything in his domain is translucent, and can be passed through. Due to this, Izumi is incapable of properly performing jinzen with herself. If she were to enter into her inner world, she’d fall through the shadow of the ground until she left.
SHIKAI RELEASE PHRASE: “Rend their bones, Kakishibu.”
SHIKAI FORM: When released, Kakishibu turns into a mass of white smoke that swirls around whatever hand Izumi was holding it with. The smoke then solidifies, turning into a black glove with four curved blades, each a foot in length, extending past the knuckles. The blades are sharpest at the tip, but have an edge going around them completely. Likewise, these blades extend all the way to the wrist, providing ample protection for the hand.
ABILITIES:
UNNAMED CLAW ABILITY| Whenever Izumi cuts a target, she is able to opt where the cuts appear in relation to the claws. Generally, the slashes made must always be somewhere in front of where they normally would be. For example, if she slashed someone’s chest, she could move the damage beyond the skin and to the heart or spinal cord, but not up to the brain.
“PUNCTURE THEIR LUNGS, KAKISHIBU!”| After saying the phrase “Puncture their lungs, Kakishibu!” Izumi will stab a target with her curved blades. The blades will then extend the full length of the target’s body, skewering them. For example, if she punched another shinigami, the claws would not stop extending until they ran him through. If she punched a whale, the same thing would happen. These elongated claws can be returned to normal size when Izumi pulls her hand away from the target.
