MINAMOTO SAKURA

Sakura was born during a very dark time, living in Japan during the civil war and the split of Japan among the Daimyo. She lived in Kyoto, and at the young age of 13 she started her "career" in prostitution to take care of her family, most of which were too sick to work themselves. 

At the age of 38, after Oda Nobunaga had came and taken control of Kyoto, however, she could not live to see the events that transpired; She died due to STDs, she couldn't seek treatment, and STDs weren't even a known thing at the time so she wouldn't have lived either way. She moved on to the Rukongai easily, not holding many regrets, though still filled with sorrow.

She found herself in the First District Junrinan, a safer area. She lived how she died, prostitution. She felt that she couldn't escape this role, it was almost as if life has chosen this fate for her regardless of which life she lives. She did, however, exert quite a bit of spiritual energy, enough to nearly suffocate one of her clients, almost killing him. He spread the word and she lost all business after that, but when one door closed, a much better one opened. She joined the Academy, though there were many who already knew of her inside the Academy and she would often be bullied, as well as used.

She proved to excel in Kido, the 4th best in her class at the time, but she couldn't escape the ridicule. At the time, she was average at best in other fields. She graduated in normal time and was placed in Kidoshu because she didn't have the skills for any other squad.

There she trained extensively in Kido, proving time and time again why she belonged there. Her strength began to increase, to the point where she didn't need to rely on her shikai that she had obtained, her kido were enough to take on most of her enemies. She continued to grow until she reached the strength where she could become the new Kido Corps Commander. There was some controversy behind the decision, but they couldn't fight it because she was the best.
