"Kousenji... Kotone..."
A name she hadn't heard in a long time. One she had kept sealed in her heart neutrally. Only to remember, never to forget.
"Kousenji... Kotone..."
A voice resonated within her, calling her name. She contemplated calling back, but she felt her own voice withheld.
"Kou--PBFWHR-
Kotone's sleep was rudely interrupted by the bizarre sound of a bird crashing into her lodging's window. Getting out of bed, the half-dressed lady went to investigate the window she apparently heard the sound from.
What she expected was a bird, confused by the rising sun. It was something else entirely.
What she saw was a group of large creatures, sporting wings of black, faces of white and the signature gaping hole in it's breast. The rest which was so important to her was interrupted by a group of the spiritual realm's universal enemies: the Hollows.
Normally, the woman named Saegusa Kotone would leave this job for the people charged with dealing with these monstrosities, but something inside her wanted to contradict her usual behaviour...
It was time for morning target practice.
After opening the window, Kotone grabbed her Schwertkreuz from a nearby desk and immediately activated her signature weapon: A bright blue virtual screen that illuminated the room with it's glow. There was no time to waste; either shoot first or be shot.
Kotone may be in a daze, but years of training has gone far enough to make her sufficiently proficient. Punching different spots on the signature blue translucent screen, she inputted the co-ordinates, angles and amount of power she wished to expend. Immediately, ten blue balls manifested around the apartment window.
By now the hollows had taken notice of her and began to swoop in, disregarding the difference in size between their bodies and the window...
...but it was too late.
「発射!」
("Hassha!"/"Fire!")
In an instant, all the hollows were pierced straight through the head by a beam of blue light. Giving one final wail of pain, the flying hollows dissipated with the light.
Satisfied with her work, Kotone closed up her screen and the window, then walked off to take a bath. If she can't relax in the bed, the bathtub would serve as a better substitute.
