WE ARE AN AU NON-CANON BLEACH ROLE PLAY, and no, we won't die in a month. Our creators are very dedicated to this project and are here to provide you with an easy-flowing, member-driven plot system. With an easy-to-understand ranking system as well as the ability to start out at higher ranks with custom characters, we hope to place more focus on plotting and writing than tedious gradings and inefficiency. Though Mei wasn't someone who engaged in social events often, she had felt it was almost necessary. She didn't enjoy feeling useless to her captain and, while he was in his Captain's Meeting, she decided to call her own meeting among the lieutenants. As far as she knew, due to most of the squads scrambling, only a select few would be attending. It wasn't as if it was mandatory, much like the prior was, so, if anything, many of them would blow her off and exit. If she was being honest with herself, she kind of preferred that outcome. Sipping her cup of tea, legs crossed, she sighed with content. The hustle and bustle was like a nice hum in the background of her thoughts. Sometimes it was nice to break away and not have to have so much work on her plate.

Not to be misunderstood; Mei simply loved her job. She adored Okewa, and basked in the fact that most of the squad pivoted on her ability to be the bridge between Captain and members. She loved the people looking up to her, she loved conversing with them and training with them. But even for someone who took her job so seriously, and with compassion, when she got days off it felt like weights were taken off of her shoulders. And today being one of those days, she released another sigh. Yellow eyes searched the crowd for any of her fellow Fukutaichu to approach.

Seireitei was truly a boring place some days. Being a Vice Captain, my duties to my division as well as Soul Society usually kept me with many things to due. From various paper work to ensuring my fellow shinigami below me were properly trained and prepared, I usually had my hands filled with things to do. Today was different, though - my appetite for those mundane tasks wasn't there. There was only so much a man could take.

Needless to say, that was what brought my traversing through the city. I moved with utter aimlessness, my mind deep enough in my thoughts to ignore all those around me and allow me to move about without a care for the world. I'm sure my Captain, Sojiro, was somewhere around here; he often came around these parts to certain things. But I wasn't here for him, I merely needed the time to think.

The clinging of tea cups was enough to shake me out of my reverie and push me towards a nearby shop, though. Once there I moved to the counter, gesturing one of the workers there to get me a glass. When he motioned to give me a cup of tea, I shook my head and pointed to the bottle of alcohol towards the back. My authority as a vice captain must have been enough for him to oblige without any questions, despite the time of day, so when he poured the glass I simply took it, paid, and went on my way.

It was then that I noticed a familiar face in the crowd. I'm sure her name was... Mei, but I wasn't entirely sure. I simply waved, as smugly as it must have appeared, and made my way over to her. "Don't judge me." I said, in reference to my glass - I was sure she saw me order alcohol. "I'll let you have some if you don't tell our superiors, I'm on the clock right now. You're..." Please let me not butcher this, that would be embarrassing. "Mei, right?".

Mei hadn't really seen any of the other Vice Captains before, and so it was a shock when a man came up to her looking very pristine and business like. She had watched him, barely, as her eyes just fluttered over him before scanning the rest of the people in the crowd. She didn't really find him of consequence, as bad as that sounded. But he had approached her and her eyes appraised him generously. He was attractive, probably around the same age as she was, more or less, and he was obviously someone with an air about him. What that air entailed, however, was something she couldn't decide very clearly. He came over and asked her not to judge him, which painted a face of confusion and curiosity.

It only took her a few moments to figure out what he was talking about. She could smell how strong it was, even if he hadn't taken a drink. The smell from the cup was one that she was familiar with, on the long nights of paper work, but to be drinking so early in the day and in broad daylight with everyone around.

"His captain must be very lenient." She thought to herself, with an internal chuckle.

He joked, or she assumed it was a joke, about giving her some so long as she didn't rat him out for drinking so early. This brought a slight smile to her face and, before she could answer, he attempted to recollect her name. It was a nice show of appreciation and one that her mind instantly raced to reciprocate. In truth most of the Vice Captains were women so his name was drug out of the trenches of her mind rather easily.

"Yume, Oda...if I'm not mistaken." She said, remembering his division as well has his name. The Vice Captains came together ever so often, to discuss their squads and Captains, and once even to discuss and share their shikai. She couldn't remember his, but she remembered enough about him.

"I'll have to turn you down, it's a bit too early for me. The tea is nice enough, they really know how to appreciate us with all the shit we have to do, eh?" She remarked with a chuckle.
