The Jūsanbantai was originally the main defense force of the Seireitei, focused on its protection in entirety. The captains of the division usually focused moreso upon bladework than any other aspect, it can be said for certain that the Jūsanbantai has produced many a competent swordsman, though other fields are focused on as well within the division itself. Over the many wars and years, the squad's purpose had become more supplementary, eventually dwindling down to the sake of providing provisions to other squadrons during times of war. A secondary goal being that the members of the Jūsanbantai are moreso a tertiary defense force for the Seireitei, the members of this division are extremely versatile, capable of taking on any task-- whether it be defense, or offense during times of battle. A main focus within the division being that those within are required at least one nap a day, this is an ironclad rule, and those who break it must be prepared to face punishment.

Training is also a requirement of those that enter within the division. The courtyard accessible to any that choose to work upon fields aside from zanjutsu, the dojo is available at all times for those that wish for instruction within the fields of hakuda, and zanjutsu both, as well as hoho. The requirement of training in itself much more lax in comparison to that of napping, it's required at least twice every month to brush upon each field. Of the many training grounds the Jūsanbantai hold, only a handful are available to its members, ranging from lush forests and sunny outbacks to the coldest tundra.

I. Members of the Jūsanbantai are required to take at least one nap a day. The reasoning behind this being that naps improve overall health, alertness, mood, as well as memory, those that cannot handle such a task are not welcome.

II. Never attack a fellow Shinigami unless ordered or the situation calls for it.

III. Do not release your zanpaktou unless permission is given, or, unless in a wartime situation.

IV. When entry into the barracks is made, remove all footwear aside from tabi, or rather, going barefoot is allowed.

V. Orders given by a higher ranked officer are to be followed without question. Failure to follow orders will result in punishment to the offender.

VI. Loyalty lies with that of the Seireitei at all times. If one is to betray the order, then they should be met swiftly with death, and nothing less of such an offense.

VII. Usage of the Senkaimon without authorization shall result in punishment.

VIII. All hollows one comes into contact with must be exterminated and purified.

IX. Protection of the Seireitei and all those within it is the utmost priority. Failure to protect ones comrades shall result in punishment. Cowardice shall not be tolerated.
