Kosuke's power

Haja Kenshō- Crushing Evil, Spreading Truth

Kosuke's zanpaktou takes the form of two separate twin katanas. An oddity amongst other zanpaktou, Haja Kenshō translates to "crushing evil" & "spreading truth" respectively. While sealed, both swords seem like ordinary black-hilted zanpaktou, save for both guards bearing crescent shapes rather than ordinary rectangles. After calling the release phrase "kurasshu(crash)", both swords take mildly different appearances. The blade of Haja turns jet black, red lining the blade while Kenshō turns pure white, lined with blue. As a melee type zanpaktou, Haja Kenshō relies on close combat to use its abilities.

Haja Kenshō's spirit takes the form of two separate eagles, Haja being purely black as if encased in shadows while Kensho is a purely white eagle. Both eagles are nearly twice as big as Kosuke, standing at eleven feet apiece. The inner world of Kosuke's zanpaktou lies above the clouds in a temple split in half. Upon entering the temple, one would see that the side facing the sun is entirely golden, shining with light, but after delving deeper into the temple they'd come to the backside where night time reigns. On the side of night, the moon is always full and the sky always littered with stars. According to his spirits, there is only one room within the temple, though whenever Kosuke ventures in it is either too light or too dark to see; appearing as if he is in purgatory or a shadow world depending on which side he entered the temple from. Haja Kenshō have explained to Kosuke that he will not be able to actually see inside of the room until he has truly understood his zanpaktou's nature. Both zanpaktou spirits talk to Kosuke in riddles, never really showing much of their nature or answering his questions.



Gekitotsu- "Clash" is Haja's primary ability which activates from release, which allows it to give inanimate objects explosive properties. Whenever Haja makes contact with a nonliving object(like another blade, or clothes), it leaves a kanji for every contact made, increasing the strength of the eventual explosion with each strike. A kanji remains on the object until Kosuke wishes it removed or until he detonates it; each contact increases the kanji from 1-10, 10 being the strongest explosion. A kanji detonates when Kosuke taps his hilt.

Kuro- "Black" is Kensho's primary ability. Being an explosion type zanpaktou, Kensho is able to detonate itself, essentially turning it's own blade into a bomb. After detonation, the blade takes one full post to reform. Kosuke uses this ability more so for defense than for attacking seeing as Kosuke mainly attacks with Haja.
