CHOKUSHI・MONKOChokushi・Monko (lit. Messengers Door) is the name of Okewa's Zanpakuto, its origin linking to the ability bestowed in the blade. While sealed, it resembles a standard Katana in dimension and the blade is perfectly bowed for optimal cutting potential. Its hilt is wrapped in green tape as well as its guard which also sprouts a red feather fetching half a foot in size from its bottom. The release call for Chokushi・Monko's Shikai is "Kachi-kachi" (lit. Tick, tock) and will instantly transform. A flash of green light will appear as the blade turns a hue of green and the fetching from the bottom of the hilt grows releasing a chain of 1080 rosary-beads that levitate around the user before connecting with the bottom guard of the blade on the other-side, forming a circle around the user. Chokushi・Monko's spirit is referred to as the 魔女 Egao Majo (lit. Smiling Witch). She takes the form of a short, old woman dressed in traditional European witch robes with a black pointed-hat and cape. She refers to her world only as "Limana Desperatus" and that it is a purgatory she's trapped to endure for eternity.
- 時間の ❝TOKI NO ĀKU❞ (Passive) (lit. Arc of Time) is an ability that activates when Okewa channels his reiatsu into the 1080 rosary-beads of his release form causing his spiritual power to mix with the spiritual power of his Zanpakuto's. The rosary-beads will illuminate a pale green, feeding information directly from numerous time-streams into the mind of the user. They now have a fine-tuned sense of precise time (incl. current time, the passage of time, personal, objective, and local time) allowing the wielder of this Zanpakuto an innate understanding of the temporal environment around them. Okewa can discern a subject's age with a glace, regardless of any alternation, and in combination with his "Mind's Eye" he is able to determine the exact time an event has taken, or will take place as long as he knows the event has happened, or is going to happen.
- 美歌 ❝TATARU NO HAKARI ❞ (Offensive) (lit. Spell of Scales) is the primary technique in which Okewa manipulates his Zanpakuto. The first -Shikai- ability of this technique activates via any contact with the Zanpakuto, mainly the swords blade. The illusion creates a false-perception of time as interaction with their environment slows considerably delaying their reaction time allowing the user and others to move in to attack before the target can effectively counter-attack, however the illusion has difficulty targeting those with a higher spiritual pressure than Okewa. The second ability instead releases a cutting burst of waves, or arc of energy, no longer than five meters that can travel up to 20 meters before dissipating. Two projectiles can be brought forth with each swing, which instead of directly harming, instead alters the “time” of non-living and non-living sentient objects (e.g. tree). These long blades of energy can fast forward the “time” of objects into the future rapidly aging them or can nullify the release of energy from an object (e.g. detonation). The user can also rewind an objects “time” to turn it back to its original state (e.g. ice > water) or repair and fix broken objects. These waves are effective against Kido Spells and Shikai Releases too – but are not powerful enough to affect Bankai.
- 巫子 ❝ITAKO'S UCHUUKUUKAN❞ (Offensive) (lit. Shaman's Void) is the final technique of Chokushi・Monko's -Shikai- release. Once again, this illusion activates via contact with the Zanpakuto, however this time the user makes a copy of their opponents reiatsu for an extended duration. Now, all events that unfold from that point on are "recorded" for as long as the wielder desires until they wish to release the illusion upon their target with the simple command "Chi-chi" (lit. Loop). This then causes their opponent to see a perfect doppelganger of themselves in place of the user (Okewa). Thus, the user can trap anyone or anything into a reiterating time-stream where everything inside the loop is restarted precisely every so often with the events that just unfold, possibly even played backwards if the user desires so. Okewa can force a target, depending on the level of their perception and spiritual power, to relive the same minute, hour, day, year, etc. for as long as the user keeps them there. This technique has caused many to go mad, however on occasion those with skilled perception and strong spiritual power have been known to retain a small amount of memory, escaping weaker terminal loops in the illusion.
