Though the darkness had descended upon the Seireitei, Kenpachi proved to be wide-eyed and wired. Ice melted in her veins until her blood boiled and then froze over again. She was excited to try and find a worthy opponent outside of the Rukongai, but she was regretting her team selection. Hinaai-soutaichou had been clear in her orders. Itada, Ashton, Hattori, and she would be venturing past the Eightieth District to scout out some villains. They were probably low-rate in comparison to herself, but she knew the districts better than anyone. And she had been the only one to even see what lie beyond the Rukongai.
After showering and putting her hair up in its normal pony tail, Kenpachi tied up the sash around her waist and donned her white haori. She left her barracks and made her way to the Nanabantai. They all had their designated meeting point, which was at the East gate of the Seireitei. However, Kenpachi left early to see Itada before they were stuck in a foursome for the next few days.
As she traversed through the empty streets, she noticed the buzzing of lamps and eerie feeling of being watched. She stopped in place and listened, knowing that she had heard breathing only moments prior. When dead silence ensued, she knew she was being followed. But she ignored it, knowing it would be no threat. There was simply no one who could take her down, even by surprise.
Reaching Itada's quarters, she didn't bother with knocking. Kenpachi never followed formality, and to say she was rude was an understatement. Sliding open the door, she stepped in and sighed. "Good evening Itada-kun~" she sang and grinned. "Oh, rice balls?! You shouldn't have." Scooping one up from his desk, she began munching away at the snack. She leaned her shoulder against the wall and crossed her arms under her chest. "You talk to your boy yet?"
