As Time Passes By -- Sen/Closed

In clothes unmarked by either nobility nor prominent rank, Tokomaru Shi'Kuyo strolled through the passersby just along for the ride from his feet. It seemed being in charge would mean generally less "free time" in the Kidōshū but his time free or otherwise could be spent where he so chose. It felt good to get out of the corps for a small while, it would help with the closing battle of exercising the ghost of his former Commander from his mind.

The food here smelled divine but he couldn't be bothered with it right now; he was more hungry for adventure. Simply seeing the sights and smelling the smells would be more than enough while he stretched his legs. He didn't anticipate running into anyone he knew and less likely would anyone who didn't know him be able to pick him out of a crowd while he wore such a standard and regulatory shinigami uniform.

Lo and behold however, he would see a sight that raced his heart and jogged his memory. The most noble of hearts... Ryuugamine Kagerou. He couldn't look at her without remembering everything; their meeting, their trials, their scrapes failures and successes. Their hooking up and holding onto one another in darkness, secret and shadow... and their separation and all the heartache it wrought. There she was... the one that got away. He sat in position where her book would obstruct her view of him, likewise he suppressed his reiatsu to 'non-existent'. He watched her for sometime taking it all in.

Never enemies nor bitter to one another after their separation... they just slowly drifted apart down different paths of life, only bumping into one another once every decade or so. At first it was because the cut of her absence was too fresh and painful but as time went on it was because he had become involved again with other women and it was rude and inconsiderate to both girlfriends old and new to socialize with both while only involved with one.

But today, for the first time in a long time he ran into her, while single. Suddenly less than three meters away his baritone cut through the open space. He wondered if his voice alone was enough to make her remember him. Regardless he knew she hadn't forgotten about him completely, he touched the scar on his right cheek. They broken up over a century ago... but somethings you just don't forget. "I could watch you read a book for hours."

He relaxed when the sound of her voice filled his ears he even let out a sigh somewhat melancholy. Still after the sigh he grinned at her, being aloof and playing it cool.

When it came to women, aloof and cool was his default setting."Too long. I was starting to think by the time we ran into one another again I'd be nothing more than a hazy memory. The first in a long line of men you had conquered." In all the time since they broke up he'd never asked her if she was with someone else. He always wanted to know but it never seemed appropriate. "Still breaking hearts I presume?"

He took a momentary gander at the book she was so engrossed in. It didn't seem to be one he'd ever read before but the implications of the title made it appear to be a kind of tutorial book based in combat. Somehow her reading such a thing made her even more attractive. Of course his intention was to hit on her nor oogle her so he closed his eyes and exhaled a bit to slow the moment and retain his composure. "How is your hand to hand these days? That Zan' of your still not talking to you?"
