The solid monastery walls had marvelously done their job in keeping sound sealed inside of the relic of a building. He pushed open the double doors only to reveal an evidence of chaos had definitely stormed through. It felt nearly as if he had stumbled on some sort of trap and had been outwitted for once. Masterfully, the quincy that set off his radar stood clad in a raven uniform and ominously aimed her bow at him. She appeared modeled after those he had seen before fighting off the pure robed quincies. Following his analysis of her clothing and spiritual DNA, she had the audacity to speak on rudeness.

"It's also rude to mess up such a 'sacred' place, but I see you still managed to do it." The cold expression on his face locked onto the woman directly, figuring out how to dispatch of her. The lone belief in his own speed and skills rendered the premeditated attack that she raised against him null. The immediate setting revolved around him and her, but he couldn't help key in on the faint signals of others. Though they were out of sight, that didn't cease their spirituality from seeping.

"Care to explain yourself quincy? I think you should know that per our race's agreement, you shouldn't be acting in such a primitive manner. Also, what's the story behind that black costume. Don't your kind typically prefer white?" With the bow still aimed at him and the woman standing twenty meters away, King contently shuffled to a pew closest to him and pleasantly sat down with a sigh.

"Please don't try to run or put up a meaningless fight m'dear. I figure a final conversation before facing death is more than generous on my behalf."

The way she phrased her rhetorical question left King awkwardly dumbfounded. The Gotei 13 had eyes constantly scouring the world, but he couldn't honestly state he knew exactly what was going on. A great deal of time had run its course since the spiritual quincies had agreed to lower their bows in order to avoid the risk of genocide. So it went unsaid that most shinigami were puzzled by this new emergence of quincy force that defied the relic of an agreement from many moons ago. If her words were to be held true, then those in black were of the side that the shinigami should have been aiding. That is, if the death gods truly considered the ranged race to be even worthwhile of their interference. She had been a source that hailed directly from her race. Nonetheless, it was weird that she hadn't been located at the center of the Quincy activity, but rather edging on the outskirts of the storm. Typical to his nature, he had a slew of questions that he wanted to ask her. If they were pro pact, then why the change of color in uniform? It just felt more of something that rebels would consider, given the evidence of history itself.

Before King could get a word in however, Rebecca once more implored for her to take leave. It wasn't as if she needed his permission, but she was smart enough not to turn her back to a death god. For a moment, King reasoned it was best to give her caution another final time.

"I felt I was pretty clear with you earlier. You should be more worried about yourself more than anything else currently quincy. If you believe that you can escape me, then by all means be my guest to try. But I think you'll find me to be different from a normal shinigami."

The bold words were accompanied by an equally stern glare on his part. He now had counted two times that the quincy attempted to go against his requests despite his calm demeanor. It was annoying, but his patience exceeded most considering his specialized occupation.

"I've noticed there's three others around, but I don't believe you created an ambush for me. The spiritual presence between the three of them are pretty static. And judging from the mess of this environment and your readiness to attack me, would it be right to infer you defeated them?" A brow raised hoping that she would be a little more cooperative this time. There wasn't any need to waste any energy speaking about running or going away or whatever else she thought he would allow. It was time to spend some quality time with the shinigami.

"You sure you don't want to take a seat quincy? I really don't want you to feel uncomfortable standing for so long. What's your name if you don't mind me asking? " he genuinely jested, extending a finger to a pew up further that only needed to be raised and somewhat exhausted of referring to her just as "quincy".

"I can raise it for you and return to my own seat if that sounds better." With his limiter removed before even entering earth's atmosphere, King didn't feel the slightest threatened by the lone point that taunted him in the quincy's hands.

"I'll even wait for you to reequip your bow and everything. Scout's honor."

Another question went unanswered from Rebecca's mouth.

Her vocabulary was rather crude and jagged, filled with language a catholic mother would shudder to hear from her daughter, but King didn't mind it, too much. In retrospect, she correctly coined him as a captain which only meant she had met someone of his status, read about those that donned the abnormal haori, or forged an educated guess from his reiatsu alone.

"You said that your city is burning and people are dying.  Is it safe to say that you're pro pact Rebecca? And you can call me captain or King. Not in the form of a title, but simply my name." he uttered to his newest company. His orders were clear in that he was to expunge any quincy that he could in a demonstration of the Gotei 13's force. And in spite of her overdue cooperativeness, he still would carry out the execution once they were finished speaking. He had noticed the darker clothing that she donned to probably support the pact, but he still didn't understand what or why caused her to do this.

"What exactly is your role in this? And why if you don't mind me asking?"

Wow. Such rude. Much mean.

He respected her opinion to refer to him as neither, simply pinpointing her inability to her lack of comfort with her own pawn-like circumstances in this circle of life.  She desired life and freedom, but constantly nagged about him non-forcibly keeping her within the church walls when there was a minor war brewing outside. If she hadn't gotten the memo yet, he was more dangerous for her than the war that loomed out there.  Furthermore, he declined the invitation to a cancer stick but hoped it calmed whatever nerves that were currently firing off. She wasn't as appealing when she spat out profanities.

"So though you're too stubborn to admit it, you're pro contract and agree with the terms set by the shinigami." His remained silent for a moment to hone in on her. His eyes never stopped sizing up that which he could of her facial expression as the smoke continued to dance from her cigarette.

"You can't do this alone. What if I would offer up my services to you as a "wartime ally"? We both desire the same goal Rebecca. I'm not sure of your strength compared to the head of this threat but even an ant can cause a giant to feel pain."

No matter how rude she may've been, she realized the fruits of a mutual partnership. Having a shinigami of his caliber on her side definitely had benefits. And him siding with her wasn't negative in any rate. In the long term, his success hinged on Rebecca's potential and how quickly she would reach her stride. He hadn't a clue about her, but found it charming to gamble with that of fate.

When she released her demands, King simply complied to them without much thought to question them. He felt inclined to even throw in a witty pun on the "god" title she latched to the quincy threat, but suspended his will to do such as he stood from the pew and briskly paced over to her. Stopping just short of her outstretched hand, he did the only option that was left and seized her hand with an overly physical movement of his own.

"I suppose so Rebecca. I suppose we do."
