"I've been having these...weird dreams lately." Sitting within the designated "office" room of her rather large Manhattan house, she was leaning back in a reclining office chair, opposite a very annoyed tutor. The room itself was about 20x15x18 with shelves of books lining three of the walls. The last wall, that of the one immediately visible upon opening the door, was reserved for the large window, that enabled the viewer to look into the backyard. It was a sight which often promoted daydreaming from Risa, instead of listening intently to her tutor. The walls of the office were painted in a beige tone, with the baseboards being brown. The desk was L shaped and able to fit 3 different reclining chairs. For now, only two of them were out, with her tutor and herself using the longest length of the table. Subject of the hour? Math. Specifically, Algebra 2 College level. The textbook was open but her eyes seemed to stare into space. "...is any of this for real? Or not..." Eventually she decided to sit up properly, pulling her chair closer to the textbook. Her eyes dared to gaze into her tutor's own. Though she'd flinch if the man had a stern expression on his face. It'd only be then, that she'd actually be able to hear anything he was saying. Her mind was so caught up on a dream she had the night before. Well, at least she was sure it was a dream...after all... GHOSTS DON'T EXIST! Any normal person could have told you that. Oh sure, there was the religious zealots, as well as the occult fanatics who'd tell you otherwise. Ah, there was also the superstitious folks as well. She didn't consider herself superstitious or a zealot...but she did have a keen interest in the occult. Things like "mediums" and "Summoning from the other side". Oh yeah, that stuff interested her greatly. She also believed in aliens, espers, time travellers and...Santa Clause. The last of which, she'd never admit to a living soul that she did. "I'm sorry, may I please have your name again?" she'd question suddenly, most likely interrupting anything he had to say to her. He was her newest tutor, most likely introduced himself when they started thirty minutes ago but...math was the last thing on her mind. |
