The bones and corpses of the dangai were piled to Luucio’s knees. He walked through them with cat-grace, sliding to the top of the dead sea and stepping so as not to disturb their graves. To each side was the dangai, an overflowing mass of space and time that could swallow up entire worlds. Even without it being draped over him, Luucio could feel time moving slower, and space being thicker.“So this is it,” he heard himself say. A smile peeled back across his face. “So this is the greatest obstacle they could give me.”He raised his zanpakutou slowly, the blade naked. Its movements were written with white steam, as if it were some great beast breathing, and the edge sang as it was brought up. Luucio’s left hand grasped the tip of his katana, sending a shiver of blue light down its length. “Steal, El Monstruo.”Luucio brought the steel down across his knee, shattering it into a thousand pieces. They danced through the air before freezing in place. Blue and black lights exploded forth and immolated him, soul and all. The flames swirled around before condensing about his legs before finally being dispelled to reveal what was beneath. Both kneeblades hummed with power unrivaled. What was once the white fog of a beast’s breath became the black words of a demon, the blue despair of a monster. Ivory hakama became black pants, skintight, with bones adorning the boots and thighs. Luucio’s smile grew wider as the power surged through him; one could say it was akin to the highest high. No sex, no murder, no drug or thievery could ever match the ecstasy that bloomed within him when he released the limits on his soul.At least, nothing higher than killing with it.In the gloom of the dangai, the golden light was out of place. Luucio turned his head and felt his smile fade. So she’s here, he noted. The Kōryū, the train like entity that obliterated anything it touched to the Dangai, had finally been attracted to the tremendous power that had appeared in its home. It was a creature of logic, not of spiritual power. It was thought to be indestructible. Undeniably, outrageously indestructible and powerful.“But it has a soul,” Luucio had been told. “And if it has a soul, you can kill it.”“Indeed I can,” the Godking said, as if to remind himself of just how strong he was.The Kōryū approached, gaining speed as it came down on Luucio.“Alma…”The hum became a song, and the song became an orchestra as steam and black flame exploded from the vents on each side of the kneeblades.“...REBANADA!”SHWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiing……Luucio stood there, his smile having returned. The Kōryū shuddered once, stopped for the first time since its creation. Then it fell into two pieces, each one crashing into the dangai’s walls and appearing beneath the waves of space and time that created the godforsaken dimension. As if he were flexing a muscle, Luucio allowed his spiritual power to flare. His release broke apart into a thousand embers before turning to his scabbard in the form of a katana. The dangai was silent, save for the sounds of the walls crawling over each other.“Now the conquest begins.”
