Izumi's Techniques vol. 1

PERFECTED SPIRITUAL CONTROL| Izumi is known as the Master of Souls for a reason. Due to a wound she suffered while a youth, her spiritual pressure was capped at a level far below its full potential. Because of this, she had to learn other ways to still be a powerful shinigami, so that she could serve as fukutaichou. She did this by not only mastering her spiritual control but by taking it a level further. Izumi is capable of using her spiritual pressure to devastating effect by producing what she calls Toutoi Reiryoku, or Exalted Spiritual Power. By using a unique breathing technique she created, she is able to purify her spiritual power. This allows her to achieve feats normally only beings of captain-class level and above can attain. She has likened this effect to the real world atomic bombs. Uranium creates a bigger explosion the more pure it is, not the higher amount there is. Likewise, she is able to achieve the maximum effect of anything she does because of her pure reiryoku. Izumi has been the only shinigami able to master this breathing method. This is because the more spiritual power a target has, the harder and harder it is to purify it. For eight hours every day Izumi meditates in order to keep her reiryoku at this level of purification. 

REVERSE THE CLOCK| Like her husband, Izumi is able to use her spiritual energy to return her body to its former prowess. Unlike Yoshiro, however, Izumi’s Toutoi Reiryoku and perfected spiritual control have allowed her to take this technique to places her husband never could. When initiated, gold and pink reiryoku encapsulates her before breaking off, revealing her in a far younger state. This is the form Izumi took when she was in the prime her physical ability. As a result, her agility returns to masterful, and her strength is enhanced to the point that she can shatter large boulders with a glancing blow. If heavily wounded, she is forced to drop out of this state.

TOUTOI SHUNKO| Exalted Flash Cry is based off of the Shunko technique. Izumi and an ancient nibantai-taichou created it hundreds of years ago, combining hakuda with kidou in the perfect way. Due to her perfected spiritual control and her hyper-pure reiryoku, however, she was able to take it to places that not even her peers were able to. When released, Izumi’s shunko is gold in color. It does not destroy her clothes, merely it creates a large halo behind her. Jets of golden light often explode from this halo. Izumi’s hands also glow while in this mode. Her strength and speed are increased tremendously, and even without Reverse the Clock she is capable of fighting other vice-captains. When combined with both, Izumi becomes strong enough to even fight captains, and can match the explosive force of bankai with the jets she creates. Though she cannot hold this form forever, her breathing technique allows her to maintain Toutoi Shunko until she suffers heavy wounds. 

MODERATE SPIRITUAL POWER| Having been spiritually crippled in a battle hundreds of years ago, Izumi’s soul never really matured to its fullest. Despite that ,with the use of her purification techniques, Izumi is able to create reiryoku so strong that it can evenly match targets of high spiritual power, and even combat targets with great spiritual power. When manifested, Izumi’s aura is gold in color, a result of its constant purification. 

MASTERED HAKUDA| Izumi mastered Hakuda long ago, along with her husband Yoshiro. She has learned multiple martial art styles, her favorites being wing chun and tai-chi chan. Both of these she has applied spiritual principles too; she is capable of redirecting the force from blows created by opponents far stronger than her, and can strike fast enough that her hits are a blur. Additionally, she is skilled at grappling as well. 

EXPERT AGILITY| Though not as young as she once was, Izumi is still extremely agile. She can’t bend or split like she used too, but she is still extremely quick given her small size. Even with her old age, Izumi’s perfected spiritual control allows her shunpo to be extremely quick and silent. Unlike many shinigami, she does not need to stop for a moment to simmer after using a step, and can use them in extremely quick succession. 

NOVICE ZANJUTSU| Izumi has never had to rely on her zanpakutou. When she fights, she does not draw it, and only uses it for its released form, which is based around hand-to-hand combat. 

KIDOU EXPERT| Izumi’s long life has given her knowledge of many kidou spells. Though she hasn’t bothered to learn many of them, she has learned some incredibly high-level techniques in order to prove her masterful spiritual control. Her knowledge of both schools allows her to identify spells by sensing them when cast or by hearing the incantation. Given her ability with shunko, she has also demonstrated the ability to use her assortment of spells with her Toutoi Reiryoku, meaning none of them are taxiing on her limited spiritual reserves. 

HADO NO.1: SHO| Push is a basic hado that forces a target backwards. It requires no incantation. 

BAKUDO NO.81: DANKU| Splitting Void is an incredibly high level technique that can stop any spiritual ability equal in power or weaker than the 89th spell in its tracks. Izumi is able to use this without incantation. 

HADO NO.91: SENJUU KOUTEN TAIHOU| One of the ten spells of eternal destruction, it took Izumi thirty years to master this spell. She did it to prove to those who thought all her previous achievements and bluff, and mastered it due to the sheer power it provided her. After stating the incantation, dozens of purple energy blasts appear around her and converge on the chosen target. This creates a massive explosion that can defeat and kill most targets outright. Due to her Toutoi Reiryoku, she is capable of using this spell once in combat, though using it again forces her to her limit. 

MASTERFUL PERCEPTION| Due to her age and combat experience, Izumi has a sixth sense when it comes to battle. She is able to deduce what most abilities can do after seeing them once and can often predict what her opponents will do. 

MASTER TACTICIAN AND STRATEGIST| Izumi has received an extremely thorough education in war and strategy during her formative years. This when compounded with her long life and constant battles against the Hohlreich has allowed her to make a name for herself in the realm of strategy. Notably in the last three hundred years, Izumi has participated in every single war council against the Hohlreich, and has innovated old strategies to combat the ever evolving hollow. Many famous scholars have been known to say that most practical or standard tactics are useless against her.
