“Oh, how nice.” The wine-colored ruffled spikes of the lieutenant’s hair jested in the wind like the deep chuckle tumbling off of his lips. His knees casually bent to climb the stairs behind the Tokomaru commander, whose tongue proceeded to tickle the sound waves with his informative volubility. The technical terms of which were impressive, while the plenitude of the complex syllables fell upon deaf ears. Ashton was not a man publically known for neither book smarts nor knowledge over the manipulation of spiritual energies and technology—but he looked pretty and always had a clever curl about his lips. And that was enough to get him thus far.
Yet still, the redhead soaked in every bit of his verbiage into his sponge of a membrane, he always kept his door open for more wrinkles. Though he found himself wondering why the two of them were dragged along on this quest in the first place, the situation in itself didn’t seem that hazardous to warrant the company. There was something missing; he felt that beyond the plethora of syllables being heaved into the air were underlying details being skipped, and he detested being blind. Two clicks of his pearly whites rifted the man’s grin, summoning an illuminating red hue about his amber eyes; allowing him visually access into the darkness and far beyond—and a curious sight this was.
Ashton’s lips parted once more, intertwining his natural jest into an inquisitive tone, “Kuyo-san, what do you suspect is really going on?”
