The Seabed is not a Sickbed [King]

He had felt her coming from a mile away, and to be frank, he was rather excited. Their initial meeting had spawned from a combination of bad timing and a wrong bed. He had been apologetic since then but never really received the time to tell her. Not to mention, he felt awfully bad when she took her leave from the division, citing that she was "more skillful with kido". He hadn't known her for an extremely long time, but it felt like one of those little white lies. Of course, he could only speculate and never judged her decision. He personally had hoped that she continued to be apart of the Gotei 13 and her movement towards the Kido Corps placed an invisible strain on their relationship.

It was extremely rare when she received time away, and her last visit hadn't came in months. So when he felt her reiatsu signature swimming in his general direction, he couldn't help but prepare as he hovered above the front door. He looked beneath himself and saw her slither in the door that had been ajar before closing it. King could only smile as he peered down on his abnormal experiment, allowing her to swim around a bit more in the huge room before breaking the silence from behind her.

"I wasn't sure if I'd ever see you again, Shizu~."

The sheer shock and excitement rolled out of her voice once she realized Kings intention of startling her. A wide grin grew on his face from ear to ear as he descended from his invisible perch. He couldn't help but hide his joy at encountering Shizuku again. The captain was left with little options but to nod, hoping that his brief peace treaty with her would only permit a bigger scare on another day. Rejoicing, he fluttered around the room only to hear his company get directly to the point of their congregation - her check-up. In terms of her health, he didn't find anything wrong with her despite possessing the lower half of a fish. The only thing that naturally came from his check-ups were pretty routine and upgrades that remained locked for the most part within her fish genes.

"Geeze Shizuku. You're so straightforward with everything!" King teased, demonstrating a gentle relationship with a peer that many didn't have the chance to acquire. The taichou briskly walked over to his wheeled chair before taking a seat and spinning in place in a child-like manner.

"The check-up can wait Shizu. I'm more interested in how your experiences have been ever since you abandoned me." He honestly inquired hoping to receive news of others reaction to her awkward physical state.

Thankfully, Shizu decided to indulge him a bit in regards to his fascination and curiosity of her lifestyle. Being that she was different, many shinigami were bound to stare and wonder at the beauty of her lower half. It was a trap for anyone that had been nursing a more kinky side to their personality. So just a squeak about her daily life was sure to have something that was unusual given her condition, and that was all that King was searching for.  She began with some trivial duty in the Kido Corps to merely poke fun at his impatience.  Smoothly she transitioned into the meat and bulk of her story and the reactions to her blue tail.

He wasn't stunned in the least when she brought up the mention of suitors flocking to her.  Before her radical transformation, she was already a pretty girl, so the tail hadn't done much for her except make her all the more exotic to have.  For a brief yet undisclosed amount of time, King even found himself blankly starting at her when she belonged in the division.  He had created a few oddballs, accidentally and purpose in the division, but none surpassed her when it came to her physical endowments. She was the very sin of lust swimming freely and unfettered by any man.

At the end of her story, King sympathized with her by laughing that she felt like an exhibitionist. He understood her reason for believing so but felt that her tail gave her a pass from being called that. "Heh, so you've really grown these past few months Shizu." he congratulated.

"Any of these suitors strike your fancy? I'm sure someone has at least caught your eye my little Ariel." He wondered if she understood the Disney-esque reference he tagged on her. "And pffft! I wouldn't even worry about the exhibitionist thing. Only you and I understand your anataomy for the most part and like you said, they don't know it's there." King couldn't help the mischievous streak that nestled in him and gestured for her to sit on a more comfortable bed he had made specifically for her. There were several tools sitting on a floating tray as he awaited her to lay on her back.

"I really think you would've been the poster woman for experiments Shizuku. I mean, you're happy right?" He had nearly forgotten to ask her this but deemed it the most importantly quality in anyone's life. If Shizuku was at piece with herself, then everything was fine in King's perspective.

Although he did have news that would likely stir the pot for her.

The words of his prized pupil launched from one ear and traveled out the other. Though she suffered the curse of being a mermaid, she still was a woman and her chatty nature was a prime example. To most, excluding captains, King merely faked listening to the plights of others. It just felt too numerous and troublesome for him to bother with, and his remedies to solutions weren't always made for everyone else to mimic. However, he was close enough to Shizuku that he purposely curtailed himself from his normal behavior. So much that when he caught word of people desiring to devour her eggs, he only looked at her in a frightened matter.

"W-What.." he bellowed, processing the unique information from her mouth. He directed his attention back to the orange data-pad on his wrist and let his hand softly rest on her stomach. "And what are you gonna do? I mean, are you errm.. gonna let him buy your eggs?" The whole situation sounded rather strange. King acknowledged to creating a popular individual, but he wasn't prepared to hear that a chef wanted to use her eggs as a food source. It pushed the border of kinky and intolerable to such a point that even the taichou was unable to decide which it fell under. "You better be careful Shizu, I don't want someone thinking you could make a great filet."

With a beep, the data-pad surged to life accompanied by orange numbers and letters surfing across the rectangular screen. It displayed her vitals, heart rate, and everything else under the sun one could and couldn't imagine. "Everything appears to be nor-stable Shizu." he confirmed, but held her there and wheeled towards her head. He stared directly into the center of her eyes and inferred that her vision was doing just fine as well. There were other places that needed inspection but he stopped for a second

"Have you ever consumed fish since your transformation Shizukua? Or do you like, consider that a form of cannibalism?" Indirectly, the question may have let a clue out on how Shizuku visualized her growth.

The innocent response from his underling wasn't thought producing in any way, but it didn't need to be. In the brevity of her statement, he couldn't help but be impressed she managed to twist him to her side of thinking. With her answer, she managed to bring up another excellent conversational piece. For one, he had always consider Shizuku humanoid despite any of her mermaid-like qualities. It was weird honestly, since science dictated one's structure by their fondest parts but King didn't apply the rule to her.

"So you don't see yourself as a human?"

The idea that she may have been speaking about fish in general never ran through the mind of the shinigami.
