All was quiet within the barracks of the Fifth Division. After the recent events of New York and Hueco Mundo, it wasn't hard to perceive that a storm was coming. When and where? Nobody knew, all any soul reaper could do was prepare.
Jet shadows twisted around the Ryuugamine's body, cross-legged with both his zanpaktou laid out on his lap. There were so many ways to get stronger, but what better way to do so than to learn from the wise eagles. Shutting his eyes in the pitch darkness, Kosuke began to focus his all on the swords before him. "Wake up you two...wake up"
Emerald eyes opened to a vast chamber in the center of a temple. Kosuke gave a slight turn to the left, immediately shutting his eyes as the entire view before him lit up with brilliant golden lights. Before he could take a step forward the whole room shifted into complete darkness. Without another step he whipped around to scan the room, and the half of the huge room behind him was encased in the lights that had dazzled the moss heads eyes earlier. Swift feet moved with the haste of the wind as Kosuke attempted to flash step to the bright side of the room. Everything he was looking for was in the light side of the temple, he needn’t bother himself with the darkness.
As soon as his feet touched the ground the entirety of the temple shifted again and once more was the shinigami enveloped in darkness. What in the hell was happening? Never before had the two sides of the temple swapped as they were doing…then again never before had Kosuke arrived already inside the castle.
”What’s going on? I don’t wish to be in the temple of darkness” Kosuke’s fierce voice echoed throughout the great halls. They heard him; he knew they did.
Whatever it was the spirits within the world were trying to accomplish by not answering him, Kosuke somewhat understood. Usually both would appear and fly around for a bit, spouting off questions and riddles for the master to answer, since the two birds never gave him straight answers. No matter his reasons for coming to the world, Haja and Kensho had always immediately come to the shinigami’s aid, guiding him to whatever part of the temple he wished to venture to. So what the hell was happening now. It seemed as if he’d have to journey into the darkness. Shit.
Annoyed and somewhat cautious, Kosuke began to march onwards through the darkness though he couldn’t see a single thing in any direction; that’s how it always was in Kensho’s domain. The only sounds that could be heard in any direction were Kosuke’s own. Short breaths. Footsteps. The hilts of his swords tapping together with each step. Navigating the world of darkness was damn there impossible without Kensho, the eagle of light to guide him through it. Kosuke had always found it odd that the eagle of light lived in complete darkness whereas the eagle of shadows lived in the side of the temple that never grew dim.
