Itada's Domain; Skills I

IMMENSE SPIRITUAL POWER; While the rare gene that seemingly grants spirit high levels of spiritual energy is near commonplace within the clan Seiryū, it’s undoubtedly magnified tenfold within Itada. From what memory serves, his raw reservoir of energy exceeded all before him within his noble family and even release in moderate amounts, it’s volatile. So potent, so dense, and most importantly, near ubiquitous when in his presence, Itada was chambered as child and forced into a “reconditioning” period headed by Izumi to instruct him on how to control such devastating power. Centuries of control was engrained in his body and mind and with discipline and unforgiving realties revealed, Itada developed several techniques of his own to account for such power, as well as his level of control. 

• Ashes to Ashes; A mechanism compromise for immediate defenses against the spiritual arts, Itada uses the sheer voracity of his large wellspring to overwhelm opposing attacks. Once released in varying quantities, the instant area around Itada’s form becomes a “neutral zone,” spirit particles, even the air grows unstable as the amassing energies generation a field of partial negation. When met with an opposing force, this perimeter of power collides and melds, forcing the opposing energy to grow unstable before diffusing in whole. If effective, the opponent’s attack will seemingly dissolve before their eyes before even meeting Itada’s form. Most effective against the spiritually aware and weaker bodies, if met with a stronger foe, the attacks can be softened. This ability is distinguished by minute inconsistencies in the area in the form of static ripples.
  

• World Eater; More or less a characteristic as opposed to a technique, this fulfills the true definition of his power. When released to near maximum levels or full unrestrained, the air grows immensely warmer and dries swiftly. His hair takes on a brighter tinge as his eyes reap the benefits of gold and blood-stained red. Heavy, dense and all-encompassing, the power itself can he felt from miles away and to those exposed or even modestly armored, it full feel as if they’re being burned when in its presence. This energy is known by many names and the ignorant even assume it has life of its own; Itada simply refers to it as “World Eater” due to its potential devastation for prolonged uses.
  

MASTERED PERCEPTION; Having a naturally gifted mind for combat, Itada is able to deduce a situation at alarming speeds and with optimal accuracy. Able to combine his own advantages and limitations into a formula immediately, he can construe the best possible route without error. Needless to say, his battle prowess and years of constant warfare aided in this endeavor, making him one of the great minds within the Seireitei. 

MASTERED SPIRITUAL CONTROL; An area of weakness, this was once Itada’s Achilles heel before instruction with Izumi. Now, well into his “adulthood,” Itada has amassed certain expertise and near perfect control over his irresistible fountains of raw power. Straying from negligent wasting, he uses his powers to the fullest potential for only the required amounts of energy, nothing more. Energy conversation, technique developments and overall efficiency, Itada is quite adept in this area. 

• Dragon’s Bane; A man of devastating power, Itada wizened himself and devised a technique to rid himself of the weakness he was to others. By compressing and folding his own reiatsu around his form, the Captain—for a near unbounded period of time—can “harden” his body in stratums of energy to drastically increase his overall defensive prowess. Weak to modest blows become nothing more than flicks upon his visage and only the strongest of techniques can wound, or even shatter such a defense. Repeated blows, however can rot away its defensive properties, forcing Itada to use more reiatsu to mend and repair. This technique is characterized by producing slight fissures along Itada’s form, similar to cracks, if not scales.
  

Hakuda Expert; The area of expertise Itada less favors, he’s at least melded it to the level of competence of that equal to a standard captain and boosts some degree of superhuman strength. Needless to say, the Captain considers it classless and only refined it so that he didn’t willingly hinder himself.

ZANJUTSU MASTER; Naturally inclined to the use of a bladed weapon, Itada is a considerable swordsman. His swordsmanship is unrivaled by most and trained beneath the best instructors and those of his own clan, his ability to perform with a Sword, or variation is seemingly peerless save for the most seasoned warrior. 

HŌHŌ MASTER; The art of shunpo and its variants aren’t lost to the Captain as his talents in the field of agility rival that of even the most skilled Second division commander. Able to close long distances with minute effort in a short period of time, some have compared his coming and going to that of the breeze itself.
