Standing upon the precipice of change invariably prompted a cordial invitation for irony. No matter how self-actualized one was, or how imponderable their new horizons were, there would always be unavoidable particles of skepticism and ambiguity. For the Seventh Division’s lieutenant, such a fact remained ever potent. In pursuit of the greater goal; the greater good, it was highly probable that his existence would be nothing more than another allochthonous seed in the Sereitei’s grand soil. Yet in spite of it all, the grin upon his face remained unyielding beyond comprehension.
Under the indescribable serenity of the moonlight, the aforementioned soul reaper relaxed his bottom in solitude of a secluded park known only to most prestigious beings in the Gotei Thirteen. Fittingly, this vast landscape was nothing but four comfortable beige benches situated around a colossal tree; incorporated above a green field containing a plethora of different flowers. There truly was no known location the entirety of Soul Society that rivaled the exquisite beauty the park held, and no place that promoted self-growth and harmony like it.
The wind tangoed through the atmosphere with a languid breeze, delighting anyone in its vicinity with a pleasurable chill; whilst transporting a marvelous blend of clean linen and fresh flowers into the noses of all blessed with the sense of smell. Ashton integrated his posture with lethargy and frigid confidence, his arms spread evenly amongst the back of the bench, and his legs crossed. Despite the tamed pandemonium that warred at the forefront of his mind, his amber optics imprisoned an aphotic fog; they were as dark and emotionless as the night sky. And unlike the usual five armaments he equipped, he wielded no weapon on his person.
However, he very much anticipated his silence to be interrupted. Regardless of the fact that he’d been ignoring and avoiding the particular female for the past five months, Ashton could only hope she’d accept his abrupt invitation into one of the various spots they shared in the past. If he was leaping into the unknown, he wanted a last time to cast his vision upon her.
