Town
Just a small city. Just a large town. Your average place with average people. Students are going to school. Men and women are going to work. Nothing seems to be wrong in a place like this. But that is only what can be seen by the normal human eye. While these people go about their casual days, events unfold without them realizing it. Especially today, there are unusual events. Strange events. Boring events. The shinigami Katsuki Akiyama could at least attest to that last part.
Unseen by the residents of the town was this green haired girl in dark clothing. Jumping from roof to roof. Then walking down the side-walk. She goes up one road, and down another. All of this ending in a park where she finally decided to slow it down.
This uncommon for her, but it was nothing new for her. The seated shinigami of the fifth division was instructed to keep watch on this city, and specifically this part of the city. But there was nothing in particular that she was watching for. There was a chance that a hollow might appear and cause trouble, or some other enemy could show up, but in a random town such as this, she was only keeping an eye that had no place here.
That in itself was beginning to wear at her though. At first she was alright with it. This was a job, and she treated it like any other job. First she obediently arrived in the living world, and then she scouted the area. Everything checked: no enemies, nothing strange, everything was peaceful. But she had to keep watch for a full shift, knowing that nothing could possibly happen.
Now with no one from Seireitei watching her, she was giving up on her quiet charade. She would glance around, and check that no one that could see her was watching her. No shinigami, no hollows and the few humans in the park disregarded her. Now with that all assured she’d unlock her mouth and exclaim, ”Why, why why, why why. Why am I here!?”
She wasn’t screaming yet, but she was loud. The small girl’s emotions had built up, and the dam had finally busted. ”There’s nothing here. There wasn’t anything here. It’s a random town in the middle of nowhere. This is so boring. Can’t I go do something else,” She couldn’t because she didn’t know if or when another shinigami could check up on her.
”This wouldn’t be so bad if something would happen.” She stopped herself just momentarily. She stopped to rethink what she just said. Was it alright if something happened? Then she nodded, ”Yes, something should happen. Something more interesting than this!”
She never would have thought she’d get what she asked for.
