Great Spiritual Pressure: Takehiko’s spiritual pressure has always been quite intimidating since the first day he arrived in Soul Society. The beast that roamed the outskirts of Soul Society made a habit of treating Take with territorial respect. His greatest strength wasn’t being able to force himself upon his enemies, what scared them the most is how nature seemed to adore him with such tremendous power, yet his energy gave no feeling. The beast couldn’t detect him whether he was; Happy, Sad, Angry, Mad, Hurt, Alive, Dead, even if he was in battle he gave off the same feel. Nothing. The design of his Spiritual Pressure is almost like a vale, or haze. Almost like a natural camouflage his pressure hides his existence twisting one’s perception of where he actually stands.
Mastered Zanjutsu: According to Take’s data log he was quite the warrior on earth. A master of Kenjutsu, Takehiko excelled in Battojutsu and Iaijutsu. Since coming to Soul Society his ability with the blade has increased. Training from a seasoned master has opened his mind to many different styles until he created his own style which focuses on using high speed and a number of counter stances. Along with his affinity towards the blade Take was introduced to many weapons that cycled through the faux-heaven, giving him even more opportunities to grasp the use of other weapons till it was all broken down to a science.
Practitioner Hakuda: Spending his time focusing on swords, spears, knives and other various tools of assassination has left Take with little time to ever consider hand to hand practice. Since moving from him home in the mountains where he was forced to take hand to hand training, Takehiko has only found himself in a few scrapes where he had to be more resourceful to regain his blade and only dealing damage using grappling rather than striking as he wasn’t as well versed. Given his size grappling also can be a downside if one more versed in the art is able to get the better of him.
Perfected Hoho: Takehiko was a man bred for agility, from what little he could recall; he knew this to be true. From his training, he had been able to zip around unheard like the best of them but where he stood out from the rest; was the combination of agility, timing, and strength of body. It required intense mental concentration in order to time precise footsteps, be it flash steps or normal steps; to keep them silent. His perception combines nicely with this trait, enabling him to catch little ques in the environment that many don’t notice when they’re this fast. He uses patterns, colours, sounds, as well as his own quick feel of the environment in order to keep his steps to that of a ghastly apparition.
When there’s reishi in the environment to be had, he’s essentially isolated his movements to walk on air, yet still appear to be traversing the ground. This is because he’s timed his body to be just half an inch above the terrain he travels. It requires a fair bit of exertion of his body to do, as the temptation to simply rest their foot down firmly is a natural instinct that many a master could not resist and thus, do not perform this feet. However in order to perfect this level of stealth; one must be willing to do the unthinkable. Then from there, they must perfect the unthinkable by releasing tiny pulses like bubbles to counter the limited space between them. Positioning their feet so that depth perception betrays the limited layer of air beneath their soles. For this methodological combination of technique, his steps are often nicknamed “Shadow steps”.
Shadow Steps enable the user to become a literal ghost in movements. No sound is produced and even the most treacherous terrain can be crossed. This often leads to it being nicknamed "Miracle Step" as regardless of the terrain, be it horizontal, incline, vertical, etc can be crossed with silence. When Akiyama moves it's like a rubber band, constantly giving him a push of speed even when he simply walks, decreasing his steps. This leaves after images, completely controllable in how they appear, from one simply after image left many steps behind or steps in different points of time. Either way, they'll mask his movement against the most skilled of perceptive opponents.
Mastered Reiatsu Control: When Take discovered that he had Spiritual Pressure, the first thought that came to him was… seal it. He didn’t like having this ‘emotion’ or detectable energy giving away his position. Daily training ensues from the day he realized to the morning and afternoon of his day everyday, he has never missed a exercise or meditation session in order to take hold of the wild focusing on east. Rather it is unfair to call his energy wild as its every bit of elusive as his pressure. While never using it he’s always had a curious itch for kidou, but rather than use the spells learned he took the principles and found ways to mold his mysterious reiatsu so that he could imbue any item or skill with this mysterious entity.
Expert Perception: One could say the way Take perceives things is quite unusual. Rather than focusing on searching for ones energy signatures which he can do and is quite skilled at it. He rather use a different skill-set he learned in his time spent in the wild. Living in the wild as stated has made him much more sensitive to not only energy, but also physical and mental presence. The way one feels or the movement of their muscles provides a different feeling than trying to siphon these feelings from the energy. Take has become an expert at reading ones natural aura, so that it’s even possible for him to realize when one harbors bad feelings all the way to wanting to attack. On the other side he can learn the same by their body moves, the muscles used [or emotion like bloodlust] can allow him to read the move coming.
