I Kidnapped by their hearts

Hinaii's humor was very black. Very black indeed. She should have seen this coming, though. Of course the woman would prevent her from searching for another missing person in question and shove her off to go sniffing around for another. It felt like a slap to the face when she had received her orders after explicitly stating she would help search for King and then told she had to stay put. Hinaii had said she was needed around the Seireitei, to lead her division and to prepare for the upcoming war. Carmen had taken that duty nobly, knowing well that the captain commander's intentions were just. But this. This was pure discrimination.

Stepping near the ruins made her wrinkle her nose in disgust. Great evils had been performed in this desolate place. When the two men who had been sent to find her first came back empty handed, the responsibility of helping them along was passed to the fukutaichou that stood there now, looking down upon the vast space with nothing but her zanpakutou in hand. It had been a good choice to call on her. Her perception of the world was different than others, and could prove to be quite useful in the current situation.

Her loyalty to the Seireitei was also something that needed to be tested. If she came back empty-handed, suspicions that swirled around her would flare even brighter than before. Thinking of this, the lone woman sighed as she awaited the arrival of her other counterparts who had also been sent to dig up the truth behind the missing woman they had been sent to find.

She turned her head when a voice broke through the heavy silence. The husband and captain to the woman they were out searching for had made his way to her side, the look of pain evident on his aged face. Carmen felt for him, love was a terrible thing to have tested and for the longest time she had tried to prevent herself from getting snared. When she finally succumbed to it herself, she too had been caught.

The other man had approached quietly, his presence becoming known to her slight sensitivity of his spiritual energy. She had bad been honing her abilities in King's absence, trying to make up for the power of the twelfth he had taken away when he disappeared. She was still incredibly rusty, but she was getting somewhere at least.

His suggestion was met with a curt nod. They would get nowhere if they didn't have visibility to aid them. Even though she had been practicing her perception, her eyes were her greatest weapon in tracking.

"Clearing the haze is a necessity, yes. But how do you suppose we go about doing it?"

Carmen glanced over at Yoshiro, offering him a shake of her head as an answer to his inquiry. The fighting was something that troubled them all, for the purpose behind it had yet to be discovered. Peace was waning with every day that passed, and Carmen was simply trying to stay afloat amidst it all.

She gave her attention to the scarred man, storing the name he gave for himself as soon as he spoke it. Carmen knew the name, and now she had a face to put with it. The white haired woman went next, though Carmen knew her well enough already. Their positions meant that they had met together before, but she still nodded politely towards her.

"Carmen Alvaro. Juunibantai fukutaichou." Carmen stated, turning her attention back towards the haze. Something stirred in the thick of it, she felt the slightest ripple in spiritual pressure that would lead her to believe it to be so. "Perhaps if we attacked this situation on two different fronts, we'd see more success. We could split up into pairs. maybe?" They didn't need to be altogether, after all. She looked to the group, gaging their responses to her suggestion.
