A coin for the ferryman [Sol]

Chie casually tossed that woman a coin. Because, what else could she possibly do? Sure, it was unusual to see someone sitting on the wayside, moping like this, at least someone dressed in the traditional garb of a shinigami. But then again, even among their kind there were losers and those less fortunate, so seeing a beggar dressed in black wasn’t too out of order, especially not with the entire ruckus going on lately. Not that a member of the Kidosho would necessarily know about things like this, of course. But still, things were in motion lately, and it made everyone so annoyingly sincerer all the time.


It was annoying. Even today, she wanted to amuse herself, but was kind of stumped as to how to do that. She didn’t have any work to do, so no one could judge her for that, but everyone else had no time, all increasing her boredom. That was why she was aimlessly walking around here, near the riverbank, and giving some money to the poor and downtrodden. To cheer them up, of course, so they could join in on her somewhat upbeat whistling. Obviously they would not do so, but that was not her fault. She was just being all honest to herself, without a goal, but with an intention. Maybe she’d find someone less mopey.
