NAME: Phoebe LaFragola
ALIAS: Joō no Terra (Queen of the Earth)
RACE: Quincy
AGE: 21
AFFILIATION: Quincy
DIFFICULTY: Hard
APPEARANCE: Phoebe is an averaged sized, Caucasian woman standing at, roughly, 5'4" and weighing 115 lbs. She has long black hair, a trait from her mother, that reaches all the way down to her butt. She has small bangs that are brushed toward the left, but not getting in her eyes. Her eyes are a light, crystal blue. Her attire consists of a white thigh-length trench coat, almost appearing as more of a dress. With that she wears a white mini-skirt with a heart shaped belt buckle, white knee-high boots, and black stockings. Over that she wears a white hooded cape with two buttons at the top. On the right side of the cape she has a heart pin. She has white globes and a pretty decent bust. On her head she wears a military style hat with the insignia of her Quincy cross on the front of it. Around her neck, to those "in the know" a Quincy Cross can be found on a silver chain.
PERSONALITY: Phoebe is usually an exceedingly affable person, people usually tend to swarm to her. She is just a nice, kind, caring person that everyone enjoys talking to. Because of this her social life is usually buzzing with activity. She's that one person that everyone wants at their party, the boss that everyone likes having at work. She doesn't mind the attention, most of the time, and just complies with their wishes. This is due to the undertone of timidness that she suffers from, though she desperately tries to overcome it. Everyone finds it endearing, while she sees it more as a hindrance. It doesn't help that she's also rather soft spoken, and hates conflicts with her fellow humans.
Phoebe is a natural leader, it just flows through her rather easily. Even as a child, people used to crowd around her when she was team captain. Dishing orders from when she was a child, it was no surprise that she'd grown up to be one of the most successful women in the USA. Business tycoon & penthouse woman, she was certainly beloved in the community.
Unbeknownst to most people, she is a Quincy -- and pure blooded at that. Her great-grandparents were among those who decided to lay down their bows and not interfere with the Shinigami. She feels that the Quincy should have banded together and fought for what they believed in. Instead they disgraced every generation of Quincy that came after. Underneath her exterior, and kindness, lies a warrior with a fierceness that could decapitate. She enjoys training very much with her reishi manipulation, her Quincy techniques, and even some abilities she created on her own.
When in battle, she becomes merciless and cold-blooded. She refuses to hurt anyone who is even part human, it goes against her own moral code. Shinigami, however, earn her rage more explosively than even the Quincy natural enemy - Hollow. Because they were the ones who had forced the hand of disgrace upon her and her whole race of warriors. Of course she had a small amount of disdain for the hollow, but saw them more as a chore rather than enemies.
HISTORY: The Quincy are a long line of spiritually powered humans, who were able to enchant certain items in order to aid them in dealing with the Hollows who came around. One of the very first families to do this, were the LaFragola. Originated in Italy, they were the start of the Pure-Blooded Quincy and eventually mated with another Pure-Blood clan. The process continued forward until the era of Beatrice LaFragola & Gregory Glaz. Each family had kept their names original, but still recognized the marriage. They were involved in the skirmish with the Shinigami and had initially planned on disregarding their demands, however, they eventually decided among the rest that they should simply lay down their bows and go into hiding while still staying in contact with one another. And so they had, the Quincy community was quite large and spread across the world but still underground. Very few hunted and those that did were seen as the "black sheep" of each family.
The next generation, for her family, were Donna LaFragola and Vincent Glaz. They married and continued on the Quincy pure-blood line with their daughter; Phoebe. Born twenty-one years ago, she never really saw her family. They shipped her off to the United States when she was 12 to live with nanny's while they built up the fortune of the family. In her left hand, a book titled "Geschichte und Fähigkeiten der Quincy" for her to learn about. At the time she didn't think anything of it, because it was thick and the size of a dictionary. In her right hand was a cross attached to a chain that she was given on her twelfth birthday.
Growing up she was not really shown much love, and she lead a solitary life. Most would call her ungrateful; she had tons of money, went to a Quincy-only boarding school (school for extremely smart students was their cover up), and had people waiting on her hand and foot. But she, nonetheless, didn't dwell on the lack of love in her life. She was always bright and happy with her friends, and went out with them out of pure boredom. On her sixteenth birthday she finally saw her first hollow, and watched as a Shinigami saved her life. He seemed to be able to tell what she was, but she was simply dumbfounded. It was then that she finally cracked open the book her parents gave to her. She studied it extensively, took copious notes, and spent her weekends and holidays understanding who she was and what she was supposed to do.
She studied up on how they came to be, and how they continued, who else was there with them and eventually she read about the Shinigami and recognized the description. She read about the animosity due to the Quincy killing the hollows, and how the Quincy simply gave up. This sparked a rage in her that surprised the young Quincy, she had no reason to feel this way. It wasn't her decision and yet, it should've been. She hated how feeble her grandparents had acted, it was disgusting. She spent her time learning the basics of archery, enrolled in classes, and practiced often. From there she learned how to summon her bow and practiced firing her spiritual arrows every day until her hands began to bleed. Eventually she became proficient enough, and her bow began to evolve on it's own. From a simple fluorescent bow into throwing knives, she finally found something she was extremely good at. She hunted hollow sporadically, not often enough to make a difference, but often enough to get some practice. She trained and trained while keeping up the image of her social life. It was almost like a double life, except that she didn't really mind. She continued school, her social life, and her training up for the next 5 years. She got a job starting as an accountant in a law firm, and made her way up the economical ladder. Now at the epitome of her life she has quit her job and disappeared from the public eye. No one knows what she's planning and, for the most part, neither does she.
