I hesitated to put this up, but I figured I would and see what y' say. Admittedly, I rushed a bit getting those skills approved and noticed:
THE INNATES (SKILLS)
- Gato's Perception. I read a grading that revealed to me a Novice rank means you have 0 skill in it. So really, it should have read Practiced (and I edited the description to better explain what it was that I meant.
- Gato's Spiritual Control. I failed pretty hard in fully explaining how he can use that emotion thing. It currently implies he can only use it this one way, but I wasn't planning on having him use it only in that one way... if that makes sense?
These are supposed to be elaborations/fixes (and not improvements )
THE INNATES (SKILLS)
[GREAT] SPIRITUAL POWERHumorous, is it not? Anybody painting that endearing blend of ferret and feline over with a critical eye would consider only his preciousness a potential threat. Nope. Gato is a one-cat army, and apparently laying waste to cities and twisting, churning, and reshaping the landscape are possibilities that are not beyond the scope of his power. That's right, this cat has claws; giant...city-destroying claws. This formidable, seemingly unfitting spiritual power is the fruit of his labours; labours that amounted to over a century of nightmarish displays of gluttonous cannibalism. An Adjuchas who removes their mask is known to be a considerable threat and those with a spiritual power less than his own will certainly feel such. It is akin to a confrontation with an ireful feline, one that does not hiss, does not flare its fur in an attempt to intimidate through seemingly acquiring a greater size. One posed to strike with a motion-blurred swiftness. It is an aura that proves both unnerving and enfeebling to those of an inferior spiritual power. The environment darkens subtly beneath his presence, stealing colour opposed to presenting it.
[NOVICE] WEAPON USEHe-- um... He's a cat of a fifty-one inch stature equipped with a tanto. There was no way he was intent on bolstering his skill with it beyond its current immature level; especially since its release bestows upon him something that feeds on his hand-to-hand combat prowess and spiritual control more than anything else. As one might expect, getting the better of an advisory requires luck, a force entirely outside of his control. He can unearth enough skill to parry straightforward attacks of a strength he can contend with and ones that are not in rapid succession. Even the simplest of disarming maneuvers would likely see to it that his little tanto is flung from his clutches.
[PRACTICED] PERCEPTIONOne might imagine that an Arrancar of such a bestial appearance would be well versed in perceptive abilities. Well...don't be so prejudiced, then. Seriously though, Gato's time of "growth" was spent exercising a combination of speed and spiritual power and nothing so subtle as perceptive techniques. It is one of the three reasons this weakness exists for him, another being a technique he developed that inhibits in sensing ability. Gato must generally rely on somebody else to pinpoint others via a skill like Pesquisa. The final is easily understood through an analogy. If an individual of complete mundanity were to be held at gunpoint, would they consider the workings of the gun? It is much like that for Gato. If an opponent of his is glowing, his immediate thought is, "...oh shit." He does not care as to why they are glowing nor does he have much of a capacity to consider why due to his minor, habitual and exclusively thought-relevant episodes of Deer-in-Headlights Syndrome; but, he knows it is going to amount to his phantom self being scattered all over the battlefield. However, it is not that Gato does not possess any combat sense. It is simply deployed towards seizing initiative and unraveling the intent behind basic combative actions rather than deriving the intricate workings of an opponent.
[MASTERED] AGILITYLittle changed in "The Sniper's" attack strategy as Gato's ego swallowed its. That is, outside of the abandonment of marking victims with a visible target. Yes, speed has always been and ostensibly forever will be a large part of his strategy to overwhelm adversaries. His metamorphosis instilled him with the ability to perform Sonido and with his mastery, hardly does he shimmer as he comes out of one. He has learned to, at least to a degree, bleed the effects of Sonido into the movements of his appendages. It makes his swipes all the more formidable when utilizing other techniques. He has learned to not waste movement, to not allow acrobatics to rob him of efficiency and sight of his enemies, which is the predominate reason why he does not perform any. To minimal-movement evasive maneuvers, covering sizeable distances to providing his attacks with speedy supplementation, Gato's speed is a valuable resource for him to draw upon.
[MASTERED] HAND-TO-HANDHands, feet, and jowls. Outside of the infrequent utilization of the head or tail, it was those three things Gato relied on the most during his earliest days spent in the afterlife. He had never grown to rely upon a weapon besides his own spiritual power, which often used physical strikes as a means of its deliverance. It cannot be said he wields various martial arts. In fact, it cannot be said he uses a martial art at all. It makes his mastery of hand-to-hand questionable. However, he has achieved remarkable expertise with his outlandish, bestial movements and strikes of his own design. Gaining a supremacy over basics and subtleties such as timing and tethering his combative responses to instinct rather than conscious thought elevates it to a mastery level. It could be considered a martial art of its own, one difficult to counter when considering his formidable speed, lacking stature, and volatility. This skill lies at the heart of the beastkin's talents: the speed at which he moves and strikes and the ways he attacks with his spiritual power.
[PERFECTED] SPIRITUAL CONTROLAcquiring awareness of his ability to project a hostile expression of his very soul was all too enticing. With the development of this came a never-ending thirst to develop it further. His size did not influence what he could pool and project in terms of energy. It was a perfect means of defending himself as well as incapacitating those he hunted seemingly so long ago. The perfection of his spiritual control means for absolute efficiency in its expenditure. It erases the borders between what is his and what is another's, permitting the magics and manipulations owned by others', of inferior power and control, to bend to his own will and influence. Hence, it is of no surprise that he is able to dismember, breakdown and repurpose environmental terrain and constructs forged of spirit particles. This level of control sees to it that he has no presence; his spiritual assaults have no presence for they come donning the same shroud that renders him a ghost that slips the awareness, eludes the sixth sense. Gato is but a ghost, a spirit. And spirit is all.
Those who balance the world and those who threaten it are rot with emotion. Comprised of spirit, yet laden with emotion. With a certain level of understanding comes certain truths. Spirit; both emotion and its conduit. "The Pacifier," Gato; a name unborn as a result of the inconspicuousness of his empathetic ability spawned of great spiritual control. It is a flux of his felid origins and the understanding of this truth. He frequents the use of an effortless, inaudible purr as a medium to distribute reiatsu instilled with an emotion; albeit nothing stops him from imbuing any spiritual projection with his choice of emotion. Those with a soul, those who are only but a soul, who find themselves inclined to feel what he feels. A tranquil Gato can mean for a pacified aggressor; but he needn't share his emotions for he is able to create them within himself and via this method, others. That is where true strength lies; not in talents touting solely destruction, but creational aspects as well.
