NAME: Ryuusuke MiyamotoALIAS:
RACE: Shinigami
APPARENT AGE: 22
REAL AGE: 220
AFFILIATION:
Ichi: Seireitei
Ni: Goteijuusantai
San: Hachibantai Taichou
DIFFICULTY: Hard
FACE CLAIM: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! - takeshi yamamoto
APPEARANCE: Due to a recent encounter with the Primera Espada Nabill Ggodsent, Ryuusuke is missing his entire right arm, and the flesh of his torso, shoulder, neck and even some of his face (the cheek on that side) is afflicted with burn wounds that are presently healing. More often than not, he is wearing white bandages over them to not only hide the atrocities beneath from others, but from his own view as well. Also, his black dragon tattoo now appears to have been burned and withered away slightly at his right shoulder. He now wears his Zanpakuto on his right hip, for easy and quick accessibility to his left hand. By birth Ryuusuke has always been ambidextrous.
Ryuusuke's body is fairly common for the Japanese descendant that he is. He stands at a respected 6'1", with the weight of his bones and flesh just reaching 190 pounds. His arms and legs are rather long, with large hands and feet which seem to dwarf the hands and feet of particular individuals. His skeletal structure is rather dense and thick, the very bones in his fists and body being able to be used like a weapon themselves. This stature provides Ryuusuke with larger feet to stand on for support and balance, his larger hands boasting a much more sturdy grip on his accessories.
As for his head, Ryuusuke has medium-short black hair which rises in random assortments of spikes all over. It does so naturally, Ryuusuke doing no more than washing and rinsing his hair to take care of it. It is thick and rigid hair to the touch, it's sturdiness likely being what allows it to raise in spikes regardless of the weight of his hair. His eyes take on a rather vibrant amber hue.
On his back there lies a black tattoo of a large serpentine dragon done in pure black ink. Swirling around his entire back, he has it touched up and maintained due to the confidence it gave him from being born in the year of the dragon.
HISTORY:
As for Ryuusuke, who was born 190 years ago, there was not much different in his path of life than many others who became Shinigami just as he did. Starting out as a mere infant, his parents, Etsuka and Daisuke Miyamoto, sought to breed a child of awareness, discipline, and intelligence. They wanted him to know what there was in the world around him, what he could become, and what he could work towards achieving. As many others who have fallen victim to the enticement of this dream, to become an almighty warrior for the "good" cause, Ryuusuke fell right into the daily training regiment once he had reached age 50, appearing much like that of a five-year-old as he stopped his routine of reading books, jumping into a whole new aspect of training for what he was to become. He was talented with his body, being extremely coordinated, excellent vision-- And even being ambidextrous.
Since day one Ryuusuke was forced to wake up fairly early, running around for a few miles while carrying heavy objects such as rocks to increase his stamina and strength. This was about the time he received his initial dragon tattoo on his back. He was not very bulky or strong at first, and his young body needed to adjust swiftly into a physically dominant specimen in order to be a prospect of the Gotei. For a long time Ryuusuke had begun to complain about his training, especially due to the fact he had to spar his father with bokken after these exhausting runs, often ending with him receiving a beating on top of being thoroughly sore. However, his father Daisuke was a great motivational speaker, and believing in his father as he always did, Ryuusuke maintained his daily training regiment for the years to come.
Leading all the way to age 100, Ryuusuke continued to simply run with an increased amount of weight, along with increasing the amount of distance he traveled. Soon enough his body was beaten into shape, although it still was on the lean side. He was ripped with lean muscle that allowed him an extreme amount of agility and swiftness in his step. From the whirl of his fist, to the swing of his heavy wooden sword, Ryuusuke was beginning to make up for the chip on his shoulders. Now that he was becoming fluent in the physical aspect of endurance, there was another aspect of his training that had yet to be addressed. Being a spiritual being, there was a specific power that lied within Ryuusuke. One he had to discover for himself before he would ever truly understand.
That's why, during the early morning and late nights that Ryuusuke was forced to awaken and slumber, he was instructed by his father Daisuke to meditate with a sword; one that had been forged with a drop of his son's blood. For many days and nights, leading to weeks, and eventually months lead to a full year before Ryuusuke noticed a single thing happen while he was meditating with this sword on his lap. There was a resonating sensation, almost an aura or energy that encased the Zanpakuto and Ryuusuke as he sat atop a rock. A sound escaped for but a moment, intriguing but also worrying the young student. Informing his father of the occasion, he encouraged his son to continue meditating with the sword even with his paranoia. For the next month or so there wasn't a single peep from the sword, that was until one night Ryuusuke fell asleep early during his meditation at roughly age 130
What he found next wasn't exactly all that informative or forthright. A dark, gloomy garden that was frozen over with a blue hue surrounded Ryuusuke, with a dojo standing in front of him. Fenced in, there wasn't much else to do besides head in, but a sudden shift in wind caused a rapid surge to overtake the garden, shattering the fragile ice-covered plants into shards of what they once were. A hoarse, muffled voice broke out boisterously with the wind, seemingly from the dojo of which it's doors rustled and rattled violently simultaneously. Not only did this uproar startle Ryuusuke, the wind was nipping at his body's heat enough to force him into a shiver immediately.
The words spoken, however, were not pronounced normally, sounding much more akin to something of a demonic backwards chant so that he couldn't make out anything being said. However, as Ryuusuke moved towards the doors the wind seemed to settle down until it died completely, as he opened the door to see the silhouette of a black dragon enter the broad dark corner of the room, followed by a series of snaps and cracks from beyond where he could see. Soon after, though, a figure resembling that of a human, or Shinigami walked out from the corner, a dark wispy figure that almost seemed to be something from a nightmare.
Soon after, the chant-like noise ceased, and the figure simply looked at Ryuusuke with a scorned look upon it's face. Placing his hand on upon the kids shoulder, Ryuusuke's body fell limp with what seemed to be hypothermia as he woke up where he was meditating on the rock. Looking at his Zanpakuto, he could almost swear he felt the freezing sensation once more, but soon after he displaced such thoughts as his palms were already sweating.
But the events that just took place did happen. And that man, no, that thing was reaching out to Ryuusuke. However, it also seemed to dismiss him. What was the point in all this? Regardless, Ryuusuke wasn't too concerned about trying to contact the creature anymore. It seemed to have some sort of dislike for him, at least that's how he felt by the way it looked at him.
Advancing into his life reaching roughly the age of 160 after another 30 years went buy, Ryuusuke has scarcely sought out his Zanpakuto spirit, however with that time, along with his increased studying and training for the Shinigami Academy, he accomplished much with his time and effort. He had learned much about his Reiatsu, Reiryokou, his Zanpakuto, and the spiritual races around him. He absorbed the knowledge around him quickly and adapted his lifestyle around being what is essentially a soldier. Taught morals and responsibility as a part of life and his duty, Ryuusuke was attempting to make a name for himself by being a sort of "jack of all trades". Using every skill and advantage Ryuusuke could find for himself, the next years were met with ease as he found himself graduating from the academy by age 165.
Venturing forth from his induction into the Gotei 13, Ryuusuke has recently, at age 170, unlocked his Zanpakuto's Shikai. It wasn't a pleasant time in his life, as the means and conditions of his Zanpakuto bestowing upon him the power he needed to win was only due to the fact that there had been fellow Shinigami, who he knew from his academy days, died during their mission. It seemed that the more blood spilling that went on around him, the more interested his spirit got with Ryuusuke and his life, along with the more it's power seemed to influence him.
Now it led Ryuusuke to believe his intentions were sincere, as the Zanpakuto spirit told it's master his name. " Sukuu o Shutsugen ". Striking much questioning into Ryuusuke, he sought counsel from his father, Daisuke, who simply said he was going through the generic process of fluently being able to speak with his Zanpakuto, and usher into this realm the power it befitted upon the wielder. However, he said it was still a very young spirit, and even Ryuusuke himself was pushing his training at a rate his father seemed to think was overzealous. Asking his son to contemplate on the reasons he gained his power, the choices he made, he talked sense into him once more as Ryuusuke traveled back to his barracks in Seireitei with a mind starving for answers. but he was content with himself, for now.
As the years went by, and the more he and his Zanpakuto got to know each other, both on and off the battlefield, Ryuusuke's fear of the Zanpakuto spirit had been purged. He was an intimidating figure, and his codes were strict, but there lied a strong sense of moral righteousness to his name. Shutsugen was a great Zanpakuto; but an even greater friend. It seemed that there wasn't much they couldn't accomplish, as Ryuusuke rose in rank for nearly every battlefield he narrowly escaped. Death surrounded the Shinigami, but it was a reminder of their task. It was something so simple that they sought to protect, but even Shinigami had their prejudice nature. But Ryuusuke saw past that, even the Hollow were, to some degree, innocent. Every soul was precious, at least in Ryuusuke's eyes. But his mercy was short-lived, and often enough it was his blade and body drenched in blood, or other bodily fluids he cared naught for.
Reaching age 210, that was when his Zanpakuto, Shutsugen, told Ryuusuke that he had no more power or information to grant him, as he had mastered what he could of the Zanpakuto's power. Realizing the notion, that meant he had essentially mastered his Shikai, and now there had to be a reckoning. There had to be absolutely no doubt in Shutsugen's mind that Ryuusuke deserved such power. But even then Ryuusuke felt like a lesser to Shutsugen. Who gave him this power? Who revealed their name? Ryuusuke felt as thought it may have been pity that urged his Zanpakuto to strengthen his wielder.
In those next ten years, which were very crucial to Ryuusuke's current state of mind and existence, much happened for both the better and worse side of things, making life a random assortment of mixed feelings, and plenty of frustration. His father, Daisuke, was still a Shinigami, although he preferred not to tell his son what he was up to in the human realm. He often brought back something if he could, but then the only thing that came back was a messenger reporting the now deceased Shinigami. According to their report, a Quincy had assaulted him during a field mission, and they had indeed obliterated every last remnant of his entity; his soul. Such was the notorious reason why most, if not all Shinigami hated Quincy.
But Ryuusuke felt differently, regarding human life as a sacred thing compared to Shinigami life, often wishing that he could remember what it was like, who he was. It was easier when you could be more ignorant, and worry less about matters of life and death going on around you. Even though many of them like the Quincy, have adapted to being spiritually aware, Ryuusuke never wanted to kill a human. Not even a Quincy. But the loss of his father incurred a new wrath within him, and he sought the input of his Zanpakuto spirit.
When he looked upon the Zanpakuto's face, a look unlike any other had come upon him. It was not scorn, enjoyment, content. It was a genuine expression of sorrow, and disdain. His silent, scrutinized look towards Ryuusuke was soon broken, asking his wielder why he had come to speak with him. He realized at that point that Shutsugen hadn't been above Ryuusuke, but he was actually equal to him. He cared when Ryuusuke cared. He was skeptical to give Ryuusuke such power, and when he thought about it, it made sense. He was young, and had much to learn. Patience wasn't exactly one of his best traits, and now he saw the consequence of being weaker than the enemy. But if he grew strong now, what would he do with it? What path would he choose? Vengeance? Could he take out the Quincy responsible for this? Was that justice?
As they seemed to understand what this meeting was meant to come to, the following course of events were very much predictable, although arguably not necessary. Having an idea of what he needed to do, Ryuusuke still pressed his Zanpakuto to prove himself. He couldn't sit around and wait any longer. The only person who could ever really talk him in or out of anything was now nothing but a memory, and he wanted to do something worthwhile. His Bankai would be a great reward on this occasion, but it would come with a price.
After the intense onslaught between the two, even Shutsugen admitted there was a ferocity to Ryuusuke, like that of a dragon. There was nothing more he could say, as they had both begun to freeze over by this time, Ryuusuke's sword plunged into the dark mass of Shutsugen as the spirit also had Ryuusuke stuck, although a non-lethal strike when put into comparison. As they stared at one another and became engulfed in cold, the harsh winds around them picked up until the freezing darkness was met with a clean silence. That's when the first words Ryuusuke heard from his Zanpakuto spirit, the demonic chants, played back into his hears. Shortly after, a similar tone and pitch of a recognizable voice spoke to Ryuusuke. It was his father's voice.
It was memories of things Daisuke, his father, had said to Ryuusuke over the span of his entire life so far. Some of more recent events brought their place into the sort of conversation he had with these memories, until they all subsided, fading away as his Zanpakuto and him drifted into thoughtlessness-- Unconsciousness. Everything was dark and cold; just the way it should be.
The next day, with his battle scars and fond memory of that night's events, Ryuusuke walked with excitement and power as he strode past everyone in the barrack halls with his Zanpakuto on his left hip. They had no idea what he had done, what he was capable of. Not even Ryuusuke himself quite knew, as his secret was soon discovered. Within the last few months of this year, Ryuusuke saw two promotions. First he was a Lieutenant, and then he was promoted once he showed increased mental fortitude for the job and tasks at hand. He was a kind spirit to all around him, even his enemies.
Now, as Hachibantai Taichou, Ryuusuke seeks to bring about change in his division, to make sure they all know their purpose; their place. He wanted them to be disciplined, having the appropriate rectitude to judge when it would be right or wrong to swing their blade with the intent to harm or kill. Decisions always had to be made, actions taken to prevent or force an event to happen. All he could do was prepare them for their decisions, the rest was up to them. But he knew the price, the cost at stake. Life as a Shinigami was long, and Ryuusuke made sure to enjoy every moment of it that he could. But most of all he remembered those who were with him, for however long or short the time he had spent by their side.
Since day one Ryuusuke was forced to wake up fairly early, running around for a few miles while carrying heavy objects such as rocks to increase his stamina and strength. PERSONALITY:
Above all there is to know about Ryuusuke, he is normally a kind and gentle person, finding time much better spent with friends enjoying a well-cooked meal or delicacy of some sorts. Time is valuable to him and every moment is as precious as the next. Using his time well, keeping track of his schedule and daily activities that need be attended to, Ryuusuke is quite often found to be the young reluctant Taichou who tries his best to ignore his duties--Specifically when it comes to paperwork, so that he may have fun elsewhere.
It was without need to say Ryuusuke would lend a helping hand to anyone kind enough to ask for it, even willing to give you the shirt off his back should the opportunity arrive. He was considerate and generous, especially to those he knew, so it was not entirely uncommon to receive gifts or compliments from him. Just a token of gratitude, or some kind.
As a person, being a male filled with energy and libido, there is much to be explored for Ryuusuke. Occupied with his lifelong training and determination to become a better Shinigami, he found little time for intimate activities. Not to mention he feared what would happen if he got too close to another Shinigami. It would ruin him to face her death, so he has pushed aside such thoughts more often than not. Regardless, this hasn't stopped Ryuusuke from being a flirtatious fellow, finding the female counterpart more than arousing and in need of attention.
Ryuusuke simply tries to live up to his father's moral expectations, trying to maintain a productive career as the Hachibantai Taichou. The pressure is a lot more mental and pressured on Ryuusuke by himself in a way, finding it easy to blame himself for anything and everything. He aims to be modest role model, hoping not to offend any of his fellow Shinigami, within his division, or otherwise. Everyone normally has his respect-- Unless proven that they don't deserve it.
As for the training and learning aspects of his life, Ryusuke has taken a head-first approach, finding it best to throw himself into the mess of things to force himself to adapt quicker, but also do to his Attention Deficit Hypertension Disorder (ADHD). Normally such a thing would hinder one's ability, but Ryuusuke has adapted to using this to his advantage when multi-tasking, capable of holding more than two conversations at a time, and performing labor intensive duties simultaneously.
From Hohou, to Kidou, Hakuda practice, and all of the Shinigami arts one may learn-- There isn't much Ryuusuke isn't excited to learn about or train, even the arts and sciences of this world and the next being part of his life-long education. This all has made him a humble prospect for a novice Taichou in the Goteijuusantai, and has given him hope of proving himself to the others.
