Hinaai stood in the comfort of her office obviously uncomfortable. She neglected her desk for the screen doors that lead to the solar. Her arms were crossed underneath her chest, her hair tied back, and a cigarette smoking from her lips. A bead of sweat ran down her brow, and her index finger was rapidly tapping against her arm.
“Soutaichou-Sama, King-Taichou has arrived,” a voice called out.
Hinaai took in a deep drag, tepidly remove her cigarette, and blew out a single thick ring. “Let him in.”
There was an undisclosed amount of dread in the air. Word about the series of unfortunate events had reached him within moments of returning to Soul Society. He didn't understand how the attackers were able to get away in one piece, but didn't dare place blame on any one person. How could he when he wasn't even there to see the situation himself?
For a reason only Hinaii knew, King had been beckoned to come meet with her. Unusually, it wasn't with the company of the other captains and comrades. She had decided to call upon him for a meeting alone and that thought alone intrigued him. So with a calm voice, King addressed the woman that stood heads and shoulders above the majority.
