Appearance: Tsukuyomi is a pale sword, a weapon of a soldier, with nothing close to a history, pride or identity. It is shaped like a ninjatou, a straight sword without curve. It is worn on the user's back. Its handle is wrapped in cloth, its sheath is black. The dull blackwood seems to consume light.
Shikai: Reflect
Inner World: Tsukuyomi is a grey landscape, above which there is a silver moon, filling out a sky made of midnight blue. The spirit of this world houses within the shadows. In humanoid form, it will reflect as a copy of the user, only tinted dark.
Effect: Styled after the function of the moon, Tsukuyomi's basic ability is to reflect light. This can be used in a variation of techniques. In simple words, this sword is a mirror.
#1 Kagami [Mirror]
Reflecting a source of light toward a destination, they will then mask a rapid movement by hiding themselves 'in' the stream of light, appearing upon whatever surface the reflected beam of light hit. This technique is faster than Shunpou and the only way to predict its movment is by being aware of its functions and by directing one's defense to the reflection impact. Perceptive opponents will no doubt figure its trick out swiftly, meaning the user has to make the first attack count. With the help of reflective surface, the beam can be curved.
#2 Higami Magen [Light God Demonic Illusion]
Reflecting light, the user can create optical illusions. If the line of reflection is interrupted, these illusions will wither. Even though they're illusions, they're not simply reflections. They can act and move, touch and strike, are, however, limited to the strength of Shikai. Cutting them down has no effect - only the breaking of reflection angle can dispose of them.
#3 Tsuki no Me [Eye of the Moon]
A passive technique that analyzes the light that reflects upon Tsukuyomi, allowing the user to understand movement patterns and the working of techniques that would've otherwise evaded their perception.
#4 Kagami Jigoku [Mirror Hell]
By creating mirrors in the air, the user gains multiple angles from which to reflect. These mirrors can form a sphere around a target, consisting of eighty-something plates, aligned in a dome-like shape. The user will then jump through the network of mirrors, cutting the contained target within a dozen time in only a second. If this is maintained for several moments, an unlimited amount of cuts can be made - like rain - down upon the vicitm, the user bouncing back and forth through the sphere of mirror plates.

-- bankai: the speed of light;
Tsukuyomi's Bankai is simple but lethal. Upon activation, Itou will eject an area-spanning flash of light. Everyone who sees it will be blinded for a second. In the affected area, Itou marks his intended target with an additional beam of light. This beam transports him right to the opponent, and he will cut them down with a lightning fast attack. This will either kill them, or activate the true form of his Bankai.
If they managed to deflect or block the beam of light, they will feel the flash of light that had originally enveloped them extend into a white world. After the brightness has reached a painful level, forcing them to close their eyes, darkness will envelop them once they reopen them.
At that point, they will be in a closed off pocket dimension, trapped within one of Itoukagi's beams of light. An hour/ten posts, can transpire within this world, while in the real world only a second passes. This means that Itou and his opponent fight in this world for as long as an hour, before they are both catapulted back to the real world, where the blinded comrades remained.
To them it will seem as though nothing happened. They will not be aware of the extra hour the two combatants have had to finish their fight. They will only see the result of their dead friend. To their perception of time, it will seem as though their friend has been killed at lightning speed. Within a second -- within the brightness of the flash of light the activation of Itoukagi's Bankai ...
Within a single slash.
Nobody knows of this, since everyone who has witnessed Itoukagi's Bankai has been killed. It is a perfect assassination technique, since it is fast, lethal and allows Itou to dictate the surroundings. He can pick a singular target from a group of many. It is also intimidating and can deliver hits to the morale of an enemy group, considering their inability to comprehend that a member in their midst has just been killed by what seems to be a single cut.
Once the initial flare of the Bankai's activation fades, the victim will find themselves in a world of darkness. They'll feel firm ground below their feet, but other than their sense of feeling, they do not get to retain any sensory means.
Over the course of one hour, a moon will begin to spark in the sky. It will transition from new moon to full moon, the full 'bloom' of its existence signifying the completion of the technique. A perceptive opponent might be able to realize that the time within this technique is limited, and they would be able to estimate the time this technique lasts, based on the comparison to the lunar cycle and the speed of progression.
However.
Thinking that the timely end of this technique allows them to break free unscathed would be a wrong assumption. Once the full moon rises, Itoukagi uses the darkness of the surrounding world to cover his approach, while he aborbs the light of the moon into the sky in his blade. He will then pierce the opponent, infusing them with the light, incinerating them from within, a contained beam of light consuming their existence.
Until then - the deployment of his Bankai's most lethal, final strike - he will bide his time and use the technique's duration to the fullest. While he's holding onto Tsukuyomi, he retains his senses
The inside of the Moon World denies a victim the sense of sight. They retain all other senses. There is only one thing they will still see in this world of darkness: Itokagi's reflective illusions. While they're limited in Shikai, the light of the outside world opposing them, in the Moon World, there is only one limited: the number of illusions that can be controlled at a time. Itokagi's current limit is twelve 'beams', meaning he can create twelve illusions at the same time. Each illusion is not limited in size, however, making the range limit of this upgrade Itogaki's creativity.
The third technique of Itokagi's Bankai reveals the purpose of the elaborate set up. It is revealed that the full moon has reached its maturity. Whereas the normal moon will simply revert to growing smaller, the moon of Itogaki's Bankai will go pale, as if someone took its light. And indeed, Itokagi did. Condensing the pale moonlight in the length of his Zanpakutou's blade, Itokagi creates a weapon of lethal ability and managable proportions. The light contained in his sword allows him to pierce all kinds of defenses. And still, that is not the true purpose of his sword. Once he has stabbed the victim – or otherwise penetrated their physical self – the sword will release the stored up power of his Bankai, incinerating the user from within.
"The full moon, cherish its beauty.." Light will strike out of the victim's eyes first, followed by the rest of their body lighting up, starting to glow from within. Then, a contained combustion will immolate them, leaving nothing but a scorched, hollow shell. Horrible disfigurement goes without saying; the body is nothing but a shall at this point, a shell that more likely than not will crumble as soon as it hits the floor, or the firm tug of a breeze whisks it away.
The technique will end with their demise, returning Itogaki to real time; the world of the living. However. Should the victim of his sword evade the final step of assassinating them, the world will collapse on itself. The dryed up moon in the sky will burst and explode, sending rocks and shards of stone toward the surface, aiming to crush everyone within in a last show of spite.
