When Kazuya smiled again at Sojiro, there was a danger in it that he could not miss. Few shinigami were as disrespectful as he, and even the wildest of captains knew how to at least properly talk to their ancestors. Sojiro, however, was a fool. A fool, a rebel, and a dead man walking. There were a thousand ways this meeting could have gone, and he had decided to take the path that lead to his grave. But the young are always think that they are immortal.“I had two purposes coming to see you today, Koshitsu Sojiro. The first was to inform you of the coming invasion. The second was to tell you the knowledge of the Ouken—the King’s Key. Sadly, I think you will not be learning that knowledge.” Kazuya stepped back towards the door. His aura began to fill the room, and like a cup too full it began to leak out to the entirety of the Ichibantai barracks. His tone was as light-hearted and nonchalant as it had been at the beginning of this conversation.“Your title of Soutaichou is a sacred one, Sojiro. And you have spit on it. Reiou-sama, nor I, nor the Central 46, nor the nobles shall see you as Goteijuusantai-Soutaichou from this day on. You are a traitor and a criminal who has threatened the spiritual balance of the universe itself. I’m sorry, Sojiro, but as a result you must be executed.“At the end of this month you will die and a new Soutaichou shall be chosen and put into your place. You may die before this month ends as well. Regardless, I advise you to take responsibility for this and to make your arrangements. I will be leaving to inform the Central 46, so that they may have your replacement ready.”Kazuya turned to leave, stopped, and looked over his shoulder. His smile was still there. “Do you have any questions before I head out, Sojiro?”
