WE ARE THE FOOT SOLDIERS. WHERE THERE IS WAR,
THERE IS THE HACHIBANTAI
The Hachibantai is the Eighth Division, the foot soldiers of the Seireitei. Whilst there may be squads focused on slaying their enemies, the Hachibantai are tasked with subduing and, essentially, stalling for reenforcement. Intelligence and restraint are utilized to push back enemies without them succumbing to unnecessary and fatal harm. However, they will be left right in the open, free for the taking from any other division. We are not the executioner, but the officer who sends the man to the chopping block. We are a force that kicks trash under the axe when they try to run. For us, there is no glory in pushing back the opposition and protecting our allies. The real glory is in crushing our enemies as a complete and overwhelming force to strike fear into those who would dare to threaten Soul Society. We shall force our enemies onto their knees as our allies storm in and slaughter them, showing them that we are a legion and that we are strong. We indulge in and exemplify teamwork. We are the bonds that tie, the string that pulls together to seal the fates of those apart.
And as such, the Hachibantai specializes in devising and/or giving aid to the planning and hosting of Seireitei's various events and celebrations!
