The tapping on his door jarred him from his slumber and he awoke to find Mei missing from his mattress. It was very much like her to come and go without a word. It was becoming more and more like her to go anything without the word. The silence was becoming deafening.

Still they ended a hard and tense day with a happy ending. All smiles and warmth and comfort. Things going how they were yesterday he was sure she was going to dump his ass. But instead they kissed and made up so well he apparently dreamed about just waking up next to her without a fight.

The systematic tapping that came unto his door was projectile in nature and annoying as shit. He knew of a few people whose shit-list he was a part of but none of them would dare show up here and now and wake him in such a subtle, passive aggressive manner.

He flung the door open, his form only covered by a bed sheet. He was fully rested, amp'd if anything. Still he squinted at her anyway, over the years it became the look he gave right before he started to pry the truth out of her. "It's kind of early, Kusanagi. What are you doing here?"

"Awww damn it. I'm sorry Chie." He let her in and closed the door behind her careful about keeping that sheet up. There was no need for her to see his deal a second time in two weeks.

"Just give me a second." He'd showered the night before so there was need no to do that again if they were in a rush even if he did have 'Mei' all over him. He got changed quick enough and lead her out the door, rolling his eyes at himself for the horrible timing of it all. He was lucky Mei cleared out while he was sleeping.

"Late night." It was the best he could do in the way of an explanation. He'd been so distracted by his circumstances while getting dressed that he totally missed her calling him a genius. Their stroll down the hall would be brief before they emerged outside to the grounds. "So what were we supposed to be working on again. Wasn't I supposed to help stretch you out today?" He was joking but his feigned pondering expression was getting better everyday.

Chie was such a weird girl. They had a rocky start when they first met and their time spent together subsequently involved her tight-rope walking the line between annoying sister he just wanted to stop talking and wife. Yes, though in a loving and committed, though sinking relationship. It was Chie who he regarded as his sort-of wife. She was his new training partner after all, his better half.

Of course if she was his wife it wasn't the start of a marriage where everything was passionate and sex, sex, sex, sex. It was more like the twilight years of marriage where everything was nag, nag, nag, nag. "something interesting I wanted to show her? Oh I get it." "So I can't do double entendres but you can? Besides that my 'girl' as you put it is very much the jealous type and would dislike anything I do with you given I've known you longer and am also training you same as her. The main difference being once my sessions with you are finished everyone usually keeps their pants on."

For all her nagging and correcting him Shi'Kuyo wouldn't trade her for the world. She had a strange pull about her and somehow they always seemed to gravitate towards one another. "About the thing I wanted to show you." He said to her face to face but then he was gone. "Shunpō they call it. Its this new thing... all the kids are doing it." His sarcasm was likely to be noted. Agility was an art that oft went neglected being that it was never his primary focus nor a blaring weakness.

He stepped away from her, trying to get his distance but not before setting her a blaze. Not before giving her a reason to hunt him down with that stoney flat hand of hers. He honked her boobs. "They've gotten bigger Chichi!" He yelled as he moved away from her he realized in that moment how immature he acted around her. He supposed Chie just brought out the juvenile in him. But, at least he wasn't pushing her down into the mud or putting worms in her hair.

Her steps closed their distance and she swung at him, full of self-righteous fury, though entirely justified.

Luckily for him, this time he wasn't going to sit by for her to use her slapplication of personal justice on him. He stepped off and he stepped of far. The reiryoku circulated about his body like homemade tidal waves; coasting over his form again and again. These waves were pulled downward into the soles of his feet and unleashed after a moment of preparation. His steps could take him farther than most at his level of understanding shunpō, however that was more due to his reserves of spiritual power than a talent in flash stepping.

Likewise he could go a long time without tiring but that was also due to a talent in another skill over flash steps. The skill that regulated how much of his power techniques would consume to do their job; spiritual control.

Returning to her his steps went about in a circle as he went around her again and again, creating a circle with a twenty meter diameter, and chie in its center. "I probably enjoyed that more than I should have, but I take things with Mei very seriously, its not like you and I are attracted to each other physically or emotionally."

Her words though probably not intended to caused him to stop. The thought of their being a lack of women who would be willing to deal with him made him think twice. Was that really true? "Are you calling me ugly!?" Her projectiles pelted him as he came to said stop. "Or are you saying my good looks are outweighed by my clear lack of manners. These manners or lack-of which must be, in scale to my good looks, monumental in measure."

He became lost in thought simply stepping left and right, back and forth in distances of about ten meters. "That's a pretty mean thing to say. But, knowing you it's probably true. So I'm sorry." He finally looked to her to see her whereabouts of course he knew she was probably closing in on him with that slap. He did honk her boobs with no remorse for the sake of her pride and his girlfriend's he needed to be slapped.

He would have to find a better way to engage Chie, in training from here on out. He wouldn't dare tell her honking her felt good. The inverse however, he couldn't refrain from asking. He would continue to dodge her just long enough to ask thrice. "How did the honk feel though? Didyoulikeit? Didyoulikeit? Didyoulikeit?" The deed was done, there was no sense in not knowing after all that.
