APPEARANCE
Azarel is the standard type of arrancar - as in he has a fragment of his hollow mask and a hollow hole. The first to be described will be the hollow mask before the location of the hole. The mask rests within his hair as four horn like wings that are pure white in color, and the wings connect like a hair bonnet. Now on to his hollow hole which is located at his lower abdomen underneath his belly button.
In a few words, Azarel could be described as a beauty. His hair flows down his shoulders with a section in the front being cut off completely as to not restrict his vision. This silk like hair is colored darker then onyx and seemed to be like a dark void with some white strands. His eyes mimic the same color and seem to offset his skin tone which seems devoid of life, but still enough pinkness to not seem like a complete corpse.
Now onto Azarel's clothing which seems to come in a single style. He chooses to wear a white changshan, with black slacks, and white boots. His arms are covered in arm warmers which have white belts wrapped around them.

PERSONALITY
Excitable would seem as good as any to describe the good "doctor". Azarel acts as a sort of stand in doctor using scientific arts to heal and repair most things. He is a focused individual, always trying to create a sort of link towards humans and arrancar. A sense of becoming alive again. This secret dream is held in the back of his mind, and he believes he is the only person able to achieve that goal, so he believes anyone threatening him is also threatening his research and must be completely annihilated.
Now this isn't to say he is static and one dimensional. He is a complete hypocrite in some cases, as he loves the same things other arrancar love like complete destruction and killing to become stronger. He just seems to suppress it with his smarmy remarks and douchebag prankster personality. If you could personify him as a sin he would indeed be envy. As he wishes to have what humans have, but also pride, since he also loves the abilities he has as an arrancar.
Now this isn't to say he is static and one dimensional. He is a complete hypocrite in some cases, as he loves the same things other arrancar love like complete destruction and killing to become stronger. HISTORY
The oddity of Azarel is that he died with all of his memories of being a human intact. He never realized why, but his need to eat and murder others seemed to satisfy him more then he could truly understand. It was like he was always a hollow - which isn't far from the truth. When alive he was known as Fei Yan in his native lands for his skills as a doctor and martial artist was swift like that of a flying swallow.
He was a genius who used his abilities to help while being a healer, but also ripped those he viewed "didn't deserve their organs", and at times did illegal operations with the organs f the people he killed to save others. A complete psychopath who was found out and committed suicide. His grief and anguish turned him into a hollow instantaneously and caused him to devour everyone in his sight.
This continued on even in Hueco Mundo until he met his match in the Segunda Espada who at the time had yet to receive his title. His skills as a warrior outweighed the pure animalistic instincts of the good doctor Azarel. He was defeated and given a scar across both of his forearms because of the incident. This causes the monster in him to want more then just power, but also techniques to boast upon his opponents. This eventually led him upon the evolutionary chain to evolve to a creature with a massive amount of spiritual power (great). His original fully armored chimera ligetah form was sealed into a sword from which he would carry around with him in his new human form.
His memories which were discarded when he became a hollow returned in full force. His regret and sorrow for all the actions he did while alive forced him to seek out not only power, but a land to call his own. While on this journey he once again meet the Segunda Espada who had forgotten all about their battle encounter. This allowed the newly named Azazel to win favor which his new master, by treating the man not as a king or god, but as a regular Arrancar of nobility.
Even going so far as to affectionately call him a Lordling.
