The factions were clear and everyone understood what was happening. The three main captains, who Maiko considered the traitors, were already banded together. But they'd be sadly mistaken if they thought the resistance hadn't done the same. Itada, Maiko, and Kariya were also banded together, though Itada was a given and hadn't been met with yet, and a civil war was looming. Sides were being taken by except for very few people, one of them being a man who had secluded himself from everything ever since the business with the Quincy Invasion in New York City. Seta Seijirou, the Jusanbantai captain, had not chosen a side yet. His swordsmanship was renowned throughout the Sereitei and Maiko Ryu knew that adding him to their forces would be a great addition.
Briefly she wondered what the man was like. In truth, due to her recent promotion to captain, she had not seen any signs of the man. But she had to be proactive, she couldn't sit around wonder what was going to happen. Because of the nature of the meeting she knew she had to be cautious, but not as cautious as she was with Kariya. Her shunpo brought her all over but, thankfully, he was closer than Kariya was. Sneaking into his office, she slid the door behind her audibly to catch his attention - though she couldn't see him.
"Seijirou-san?" She called out at a decent volume, though not quite screaming.

At the very moment, Seijirou had no such time to games. Rather, head resting across the surface of his desk as he seemed to slumber, it couldn't be told for certain whether he was actually in a state of consciousness, or rather, he were faking his appearance. No matter the answer, her presence did not go unnoticed, the measures she went through previously giving his head slightly rise as he set half-lidded gaze upon her form. While he could remember most with a simple passing gaze after minutes on end, she came as an oddity. He knew not who she was, nor did he care for her presence in the slightest. Still, she had arrived— without appointment apparently, which meant that she was either lacking in commonsense, or rather, she was gutsy. He parted his lips, they hidden behind arms.
"And you are?"
There was no question about his tone. Rather, as he sat himself up in full within chair, he gave off not the slightest bit of confusion. Rather, he seemed to know what she was here for in way, or instead of running her off, he allowed her passage further into his quarters. Spiritual pressure kept at a low as he blinked at her with his gaze not leaving her in the slightest, he motioned briefly to one of the two cushions stationed before his work area, right hand tapping briefly against saya that rested against his lap. For a while know his contact with Bushido had been limited— almost severely. If she wished to utilize his strength in any form or fashion, it would be harder than she thought. Still, he wanted to hear what she had to say nonetheless.
"You may speak. First however... introductions and your reasoning for disturbing me. If I haven't chased you out by then... tea." He didn't appear to be joking. Rather, he spoke with an air of truthfulness.
The amount of arrogance the man was releasing was almost palpable and it made the woman bite her lip. Even the look he gave her was one of someone looking down on another; a superiority complex. The information she was given about the man seemed to be severely misplaced. She was told that he was a lazy fool, and yet the man in front of her seemed to be a completely different person. He had a knowing look in his eyes, though she couldn't be sure, and he almost seemed to be expecting how the conversation would play out. He asked for an introduction, which would've been unnecessary if the bastard had deemed it necessary to come to her induction ceremony - which, by not coming, was breaking a rule.
"Jūbantai Taichō - Maiko Ryū." She clipped, her tone conveying that she wasn't going to chide him about his obvious disrespect for culture and rules. He pointed to the seat and then continued to talk to her. Or, in reality, he began to talk at her.
Who did he think he was? How dare he talk to her like that? She narrowed her eyes at him slightly, choosing her words carefully. Regardless of her personal opinion on the man, they needed an army to match the traitors and every general counted. Since Itada was injured and Kariya preoccupied, it was her sole duty to gather people to support their movement. In all honesty it wasn't the best idea. Kariya was the most affable out of the three; Itada and Maiko were people who wouldn't deal with the blithe blatherings of those who would not join - especially since it was against their teachings. It took everything in her power not to unsheathe her sword and display his head. She could speak? Did he think he was her master? For his sake, she would overlook that comment.
"Don't play dumb. You know why I'm here, you probably witnessed everything with your own eyes. You most likely guessed the outcome and wondered which side would come to visit you first. You are one of the very few captain's who haven't chosen aside in this up and coming civil war - though, let's hope that it doesn't come to that." Despite her words she knew she wasn't being honest at the last tidbit, though no one would ever know. She was actually looking forward to punishing the traitors, though she'd never tell anyone.
"I'm here to either ask for a declaration of your side, for you to join our side, or for a declaration of neutrality."

"Poor, poor Kazuma..."
These were the words he chose to speak in response to her statements. No matter who she thought she was or her position, she was still in his court. She was within his quarters, standing— sitting mayhaps— speaking of sides and war to come. She thought she knew of the outcome, and fully expected that she could win. Did she also think she could sway him to joining her side— her cause? Did she believe that it would be as simple as a wave of her hand to call him forth? If so, she was surely misled, the same as the information given to her about him. There seemed something strange about him, almost unnatural in his mannerisms and actions overall. No more did he appear in the least tired. Rather, he seemed to be as alert as possible, usual bags under eyes gone and replaced with the most attentive gaze possible. Half-lidded as usual, his irises surveyed her with the lightest flutter of lashes. She was Kazuma's successor? In all honestly, he didn't think much of her.
"... Tea," Seijirou said, attendant sliding doors open before rushing forth, platter set upon desk. He returning to previous waiting position behind the side doors for further orders, Seijirou waited until all was quiet before taking a cup into hold, sipping. "You speak of sides my lady... yet you fail to understand that I stand by the Seireitei as a whole, as do my members." Did this answer her question in the slightest? Surely not. Rather, it could lead to slight confusion, or could warrant further clarification. As such, he continued.
"There are no sides in this. Rather, the Seireitei's goal will remain the same no matter who is in control. You could say I assume a neutral position, but this is but the case. My blade has always been lifted to protect those of the Seireitei. Thus..." His gaze found its way upon her once more, locked upon her face and features.
"If any seek to destroy the Soul Society, I shall do battle. Otherwise, I will refrain from any sort of action. Hina will be missed, but if she is gone or dead, it is her own weakness that led to such an end. Hina..." His voice seemed to trail off near the end, gaze falling as he set down his cup. He'd always joked about teaching her a thing or two, but... for her to actually be gone? It irked him. The order of the Seireitei at the moment was less than pleasurable, though he had to make do. In all honesty, he didn't want to fight at all. Not against Yuu, Sojiro, Itada, Kariya, or even Maiko.
The way he spoke of Okewa-san grated on her nerves immensely and her muscles all subconsciously tensed. His tone was almost mocking, to her ears, and it was only finding itself to root it deeply within her heart. It was the reason she refused to sit, she would not give him the satisfaction of following his commands. She was not a simple dog for him to call forth and then demand away. He had an awful amount of arrogance and, on top of that, he deemed to ignore her and call in the tea from his assistant. She listened as he talked and, with each word, her muscles relaxed all the more. Her hands, held under her chest together, weren't as clenched before. He made his siding perfectly clear and that was understandable.
"I see, well that makes perfect sense Seijirou-san." She let out a deep sigh and smiled at him. After his little speech she understood completely.
The Sereitei had yet another traitor.
"Well then, die traitor." Even as she began to speak the air around her would begin to crackle before it combusted into a raging tornado of fire around her1. Burning through the building she launched herself through the same way she came in with a Shunpo2 and landed on the air opposite of the building in a crouch. Sword out of it's sheath, and in it's Shikai state3, she held it out.
In the oncoming war he would've sided with the traitors anyway and, as such, she would've had to kill him anyway. He was nothing more than an expedited fight. In all honesty, Maiko could've bisected him in a near moment had she chosen to do so. He was in a vulnerable position while she was in a standing and ready position. But that wasn't an honorable captain death. She would slay him, yes, but she would do it while he struggled against her.
"Kenrodagoku will make sure you regret your arrogance and idiocy." She twirled her spear as the flames began to surround it4. The battle was beginning and it was not going to be an easy one. 1 Spiritual Pressue / 2 Shunpo / 3 Shikai / 4 Ensho (Passive)

Utilization of Shunpo1 made known, Seijirou pulled himself away from where he sat originally, a bit of distance put between himself and the female that had so readily unleashed her zanpaktou within his compound. Had she no respect for her elders? Had she no sense? In moments to minutes his forces would come to see the commotion, and if they set eyes upon the scene she'd find herself surrounded. The only way to save them the trouble would be... Yes, he knew what had to be done. Parting his lips, he spoke simply.
"You misunderstand."
Such was the reason why he disliked those of younger ages-- much too battle-ready and unthinking of the consequence. She misunderstood his words, and as such referred to him as a 'traitor'. Had he not just said that he would assume stance for the betterment of the Seireitei? Had he not just spoken out that he would do battle against those that wished to harm the Seireitei itself? Did this mean that Maiko considered herself an enemy of the order? Did this mean that the female that stood before him considered herself an enemy of he? Gaze kept light as he stood himself-- zanpaktou lifted, he showed no such recognition of her ability. Rather, he simply unsheathed his own blade.
"Rei," he uttered.
Kissaki meeting flooring before ground and woodwork alike exploded around his form, he acted. Utilizing his Shunpo once more as he masked himself as well as he could-- spiritual pressure hiding upon layer and layer, he aimed to disappear from the area and from sight entirely, even from her senses. Where would he go? Honestly, not even he knew. What he did know however was that if war broke out, he would have nothing to do with it.
