NAME: Jukan, HinaaiRACE: ShinigamiAGE: 788APPEARANCE: Hinaai, in her youth, was once considered an extremely attractive woman. Even now her blonde curls and lithe body, when combined with an ample bosom and wide hips, show signs of her once being worthy of the name “the Soul Society’s Golden Doll”; however, after a grueling battle with the Hohlreigh one hundred years ago, that title was given up. A long, wide scar goes from her hairline, past his right eye, and ends at her chin. Shaped like an upside-down triangle, it is the result of taking a vicious burning sword to the face. Though she doesn’t let it bother her outwardly, the scar causes many to see her as the leader she is, and not the woman she once was. When it comes to dress Hinaai is a strong believer in the code of her people. Her uniform is unmodified, and the sleeves of her white haori call down to her wrists. Though she never carries her zanpakutou on her, few are tricked into believing that she doesn’t hold power wherever she goes. Hinaai prefers to wear her hair up in a loose tail, and a cigarette is never found too far from her lips.PERSONALITY: Once a woman who believed strongly in the nobility and the war against the Hohlreich, Hinaai has become a leader searching for peace. The scar she received a century past has colored every day of her life since then. Battles, to her, are best avoided. Seeing zanpakutou or naked steel in plain sight irks her. Even being told the grizzly details is enough to cause the hairs on the back of her neck to rise. Still, Hinaai hears it all, sees it all, and suffers it all for the good of her people. In her mind, she is the ultimate matyr, ready to give her life up at a moment’s notice. The politics of the Seireitei, however, have long become wearisome. Hinaai has suffered laughs and mocking whispers in secret about her scar, and despite her promotion to Captain-Commander more than a century ago, many believe that she is too weak to hold the title. None can deny her power, but many deny her mental state. It is rumored that she hasn’t taken a man to her chambers since she received her scar, and that she weeps every night. Only one of the rumors is true.
HISTORY: Hinaai was born to the noble Jukan family, one of the Seven Great Families that founded the Seireitei two thousand years ago. She was raised to be a religious woman devoted to the Soul King and the balance, in addition to a powerful warrior who would fight to uphold the core tenants of the Goteijuusantai. Over the period of multiple centuries she fought in many battles against the Hohlreich in particular, gaining a name for a powerful shinigami. Due to her birth and reputation, Hinaai quickly rose to the station of Nanabantai-Taichou.
One hundred and twenty years ago, the former Soutaichou was sent by the Central 46 to lead the van against Hueco Mundo. He died in this battle and almost immediately Hinaai was promoted. This controversy ripped through the noble houses, and right as civil war within the Seireitei threatened to spark, Hinaai was sent on a mission similar to her predecessor. The only difference was that in this battle, instead of dying, she came back with a horrible scar on her face. How she received the blow she does not remember, as do none of the shinigami who were fighting with her. Each received a catastrophic set of wounds, including those severe enough to the head to wipe away portions of their memories. Luckily for Hinaai, she only lost a handful amounting up to the days leading to the invasion.
Upon her return, Hinaai was a changed woman. No longer was faithful or religious, she began multiple peace campaigns. This not only served to bring the Seven Families to her cause, but was successful in reducing the amount of casualties in the seemingly eternal war against the Hohlreich. Finally, after nearly ninety years of appeals, a new hollow empire rose and appealed for peace with her.
It took forty six days of debate with the Central 46 to reach an agreement. A peace, no matter how shaky, was established. Hinaai now works to further relations between the new empire and the Seireitei.
