Equal and opposite exchange, for one to live the other must die. This was a simple principal that the world couldn’t deny for looking around it was an environment consumed by the relations between predator and prey. Animals sunk their teeth not to be cruel or violent but merely to prolong their own life and continue the cycle of their own. It was a dog eat dog world so to speak.
This principle was why there wasn’t an ounce of sadness in the confines of Eniola as he felt the life departing from the figure of youth. A teenage girl who had been wandering the night wouldn’t be returning home that night. The bount had snatched the girl in the dark of the night and immediately began to drain her of her life without a care as to whether or not she was to die because of his actions. Predators didn’t concern themselves with how their prey felt which was why her whimpers didn’t slow him the slightest. If anything the noise she made excited him and intensified his feeding as he buried his face into her neck. Not because he was some sort of monster but because he wished to end her suffering while at the same fulfilling his appetite.
There were a multitude of ways for a bount to drain a soul from the body but Eniola preferred the one that was the most vampiric in nature. For those that looked on would merely see what appeared to be a couple displaying their affection. Closer inspection would show that it was a girl pained as a male a tad bit too old for her, bit into her neck as if she was a piece of meat. Blood flowed from the bite but he didn’t drink it for that was not the source of her life energy that he craved, he merely bit so that the prey had a harder time of moving and escaping his grasp as he pried the life from he.
