Soft winds flocked the air in endless streams, leaving a comfortable chill in its wake. The lovely scent of nature tickled the nose, and did nothing but accent the serenity of midnight like a cherry on top of a sundae. And yet as inquisitive golden eyes scoured the dirt pathway throughout the rapping of soft footwear, the sixth sense refused to depart with eeriness. Black furs across the collar danced in the walk, while black armguards grazed against three hilts protruding from the side; hands lazily situated in pockets while a devious grin parted, “Do you even know anything about Bounts, Mikono-chan?”
The Nanabantai Fukutaichō’s optics glided ever so slightly to catch the sight of an exquisite feminine figure accompanying him to right. The gorgeous female was built of average height and tamed weight, with long black hairs rooted from a Seiryū lineage; though her extra-cautious light-blue orbs and shy posture did little to befit her aristocratic status. “N-No, no, I don’t. I’m sorry, Ashton- Fukutaichō.” Seiryū Mikono admitted regrettably, careful as to not catch a glimpse of his intimidatingly apathetic eyes. She found her answer met with a prolonged stare, yet the tone of her superior’s natural baritone came to conflict his exterior image, “No need to apologize, sweetheart.” He began, giving her amnesty for her ignorance. “You are only our seventh seat, sweetheart, and even then not many people know what a Bount is.”
He left his knowledge on the topic as a mystery, for some reason. “They’re essentially vampires in our little fun spiritual world. They survive by absorbing the souls of other Humans, or even Shinigami and Hollows from time to time. They’re incredibly dangerous, and rumor is that our scientists in the Research and Development Institution created them—but I wouldn’t believe that.” He finished with a wink, thinking the conversation done with. The noble blood clasped her hands behind her back, thwarting her vision to the ground with a respectful silence as they trekked the long walk down the tree-encompassed route. “Ash…” He soft voice came out, her eyes steadily mustering the confidence to look at him, “About what happened last month, did that…mean anything?”
You dumb bitch.
“What?” Ashton playfully scoffed, his curled lips looking at their target. “Hey, I don’t think I have the words to explain what that meant to me.” Absolutely nothing, you’re only useful to me at the moment. he thought. “That’s why I chose you for this little mission.” The snake stated, slithering his right hand out of his pocket and placing a palm atop her shoulder. The glint of sentimentality in his eyes sent a wanted shiver down her spine, and he smiled as if the touch gave him the same effect. “I trust you, and I couldn’t handle this mission with anyone else.”
A warm coloring manifested upon her cheeks, and the genuine smile sloping into her lips only accentuated it. And as her lips parted to speak, an intense surprise twitched one of the lieutenant’s red eyebrows upward—and she most definitely wasn’t the surprise. “I was wondering if we could—!” Their collected pattering came to a stop as a gasp interfered with her speech! It seemed as if her vision finally met with the environment that burst from even Ashton’s containment; a gigantic, steaming crater with enough spiritual power radiating from it to rival any captain. There was nothing to but seen under the sheath of moonlight, only a terror to be felt through the mind’s eye.
While Ashton was certainly cautious about the mystery mere feet before them, he probably would puke if she continued with her little romantic musings. The male’s hand slowly slumped off his companion’s shoulder and gripped upon his primary armament, and after a last beckoning with his eye she did the same. Fear was prominent about her visage, but the fact that a strong man that she trusted was guarding her allowed her shoulder to stand bold; her legs still and unwavering like the curl about the vice-captain’s lips. But as a deep, exotic voice conquered the sound waves, she was surprised that a tremble was the only thing sending a quake down her legs.

“You’re absolutely delicious for a mere lieutenant, Arterius.”
