★ Skills Great Spiritual Power Born lucky despite his rather lackluster lineage, with an exceptionally high amount of natural spiritual energy, Maxwell was never meant to be anything but what is is now. A Knight Commander, his spiritual energy is on par with most Shinigami Captains and Espada. His innate power is so great that if not suppressed, most spiritually aware humans within the area around him would be rendered unable to move, some even unable to breath. His Reiatsu is serene, flowing naturally across his form as a droplet of water would flow down a surface. Expert Spiritual Control The Quincy has honed this skill over his years of trials and training. Possessing a proficient ability to control his own power and the Reishi around him. Capable of masking his own power from most anyone without a superb sense of perception, and unleash the full brunt of his power when the need arises. His ability to absorb and manipulate Reishi is also beyond most Quincy below the Knight Commanders. Expert Agility A Quincy needs to be agile in order to stay alive in combat, Max is no exception to this. Despite not quite being on the level of the fastest of his order, his Hirenkyaku speed is nothing to diminish. Able to cut through the air and along the ground with ease, his movements, while not as graceful or effortless as others, are still quite fluid and quick. His preferred use of his agility is to set himself up at reasonable distances from his opponent so that he may use his most important and deadly skill. Perfected Ranged Weaponry The defining weapon and symbol of a Quincy is his or her bow, a weapon of elegance and simplicity. The usage of such weapons is the greatest skill in Maxwell's arsenal, a skill in which he is second only to the King himself. His skill with a bow began a short time after he'd been sent to Il Vaticano, when the first time he manifested his bow, he struck a bullseye on a target that had been set up nearly a thousand feet away. It was at that moment that the Vatican knew that the skill he possessed could be honed into an almost unequaled weapon. Every single day for the next seventeen years, he has trained with every sort of ranged weapon he could be provided with. Preferring the use of a Starcream, Poseidon, or any other firearm variant in particular. Firing at least ten thousand projectiles a day, at whatever he can find in terms of a target, always training each and every round on the point he's designated as the exact target, down to the centimeter. In seventeen years of training and combat, he can count the number of times he's missed a target on one hand. Practitioner Hand to hand combat Max can throw a punch in a proper form and toss out a few kicks that won't throw him off balance. Like all Quincy, he has at least received rudimentary training in hand to hand combat, should such a time arise when his weapons and equipment are unavailable to him. And he has managed to understand the fundamentals to the point where he wouldn't royally get his ass kicked in the middle of a brawl. Novice Melee combat Everything comes easy to him, from archery to complex spiritual theory and hollow physiology. Everything, except swordsmanship. Try and try as he might, Maxwell is about as proficient with a sword as a toddler, and just as likely to hurt himself with one as he is hurt his enemy. He carries the traditional Seele Schneider, but only for usage as a desperate last resort, or to fire off as arrows. Mastered Perception His remarkably quick wit and intellect has gifted him with an ability that few others in his order have when it comes to detecting and sensing spiritual power. Nearly two decades of hard work and fierce fighting have gifted him with a sharp and innate ability to read and diagnose enemy skills, techniques, movements and probable attacks. This skill, even more so than his exceptional ability from afar, is the reason he is a Knight Commander. Using it to win a great deal many battles without even having to fire a shot of his own. His cool, calculated and distant nature in battle gifts him with a field vision that has allowed him to best foes that held a vast numerical advantage, simply because he saw through their every move. |
