SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES
HIGH SPIRITUAL PRESSURE: Kasuka is a cut above the rest, and is capable of taking down scores of shinigami, hollow, humans, or what have you. His abilities are noteworthy and while not near that of a captains level, he is certainly a capable combatant.
ZANJUTSU EXPERT: Kakusa is a very competent swordsman, this is due mostly to the fact that he has spent a great deal of time learning the art of the sword after learning that the zanpakuto he wields is useless to him (or so he feels). He has trained himself in the usage of the sword but has also trained under members in the 11th divison thanks to a short period of time he was transferred there. He learned proper form there and found the division to be incredibly fighting intensive but his feelings on weaving kido and swordsmanship together was frowned upon by the division members and was the reason he left. His skills in zanjutsu are more than sufficient for someone of his position, and finds that he wins most duels in pure swordsmanship.
- Hagetakadaibu (ハゲタカダイブ Vulture Dive): A technique which is distracting from several angles. The technique starts by Kakusa throwing his zanpakuto into the air, it is meant as a distraction while he closes the gap or uses a kido to attack an opponent off guard. However this is not the only aspect, the sword is controlled by a string of spiritual energy connected to the sword and when yanked downwards allows the sword to come towards the enemy with great force and speed, much more than they would expect from a falling blade. Even if the technique fails, he can yank the sword towards him so that he does not lose his sword.
HAKUDA EXPERT: Hand-to-Hand combat is something that Kakusa learned out of necessity. He picked it up quickly after coming into the divisions after losing time and time again to unarmed second division members who kicked his ass. He realized the importance of close quarters combat and began to train. He knew nobody wanted to train him and so he watched the second division train and conditioned. He also had regular hakuda conditioning in the divisions he was training in. While he was slow to progress in this area, experience has allowed him to become a seasoned Hakuda fighter and now more than ever does he practice hand to hand combat with the members of his division, showing them time and time again the importance of this art just as he was shown.
HOHO EXPERT: Speed is something Kakusa has always coveted. He hates being the sluggish one in a fight and has never appreciated being out ran. Much like Hakuda he has recieved some training in this area but mostly has trained daily to make this for himself. His skills in this area are that expected of a lieutenant and has never come to expect less of himself. He is very fast, able to use shunpo without much difficulty at all and known for using distractions and his natural speed to get an upper hand on the enemy. Barrage style warfare is where he excels, quickly bombarding the enemy with mid-tier level abilities and overwhelming them with the sheer speed and power of his abilities.
SPIRITUAL CONTROL MASTER: Kido has always been something easy for Kakusa. Learning new kido is rather simple for him as he understands how to mold his spirit energy quite well. He has come to master kido to a level that has allowed him to be recognized for his achievements. But more importantly and the reason he is a fukataichou is the fact that he has seamless weaving of kido and combat abilities. He is known for his ability to fight with kido at a highly competent level and has always strives to make his battle motions constant between kido and physical attacks. While he feels as though his Bakuto is stronger than hi Hado, he is very competent in both and neither should be underestimated. He is able to preform both Nijū Eishō and Eishōhaki with great efficiency.
BAKUDŌ
BAKUDŌ
- Bakudō #9. Geki (撃, Strike): As the practitioner draws the symbols of the spell in the air, his/her entire body permeates a red energy, which engulfs the body of the target, causing complete paralysis.
- Bakudō #39. Enkōsen (円閘扇, Round Lock Fan): Using either both hands or his/her Zanpakutō in a blocking motion, the practitioner generates a dull yellow energy, which takes the form of a large spinning disk of condensed Reiatsu, in front of themselves, blocking an opponent's attack.
- Bakudō #63. Sajō Sabaku (鎖条鎖縛, Locking Bondage Stripes): Raising his/her palm up to the target, the practitioner closes his/her hand into a fist and calls forth yellow energy, taking a form of very thick rope, which binds the upper body of the target.
- Bakudō #75. Gochūtekkan (五柱鉄貫, Five-Pillared Iron Weights): As the practitioner clasps their hands together, five small yellow orbs with skinny tails emerge from between their clasped hands and move above the practitioner's head before forming a circle of five. Raising their clasped hands above their head, the practitioner slams them downward, sending the orbs into the ground. As a bright light is generated in the sky above the intended target, five tall and thick pillars, which are connected to each other by chains, pin the target to the ground.
- Bakudō #79. Kuyō Shibari (九曜縛, Nine Sunlight Traps): The practitioner creates eight black holes with purple outlines which emit spiritual energy in the space surrounding the target, with the ninth black hole manifesting itself in the center of the target's chest, with the intention of immobilizing the target.
HADŌ
- Hadō #12. Fushibi (伏火, Ambush Flare): The user will release an orange web around the battle field. This web is able to be detonated with the addition of another hado. This technique is useful for large scale area of effect damage and holding enemies in place. It can be release from the hands and used to grab objects like an actual web in order to fling them back and detonate them.
- Hadō #54. Haien (廃炎, Abolishing Flames): A flame attack which eradicates the very existence of its target. The practitioner fires an oblong blast of purple energy from their hand which completely incinerates a target upon contact.
- Gaki Rekkō (牙気裂光, Raging Light Fang): Creates a circle of energy before firing multiple blasts of green light from its center in a cage-like formation.
PERCEPTION PRACTITIONER: Perception for Kakusa is easily his weakest aspect. He is not incredibly intelligent and is no detective of the battle field. Kakusa has always and always will rely on the information he has learned through text and training. He is aware of what shinigami, hollow, arrancar, fullbrigners, ect. What everyone does based on information gathered about them. He has the book smarts but it does not mean he is naturally intelligent. If he were to face something which he has no explanation for he is fighting blind. He has seen a hollows cero and knows what it is composed of and how it works, but if someone were to pull out specialized cero with fundamental differences he would be at a lost. His ability to sense others is moderate, nothing amazing, nothing terrible.
ZANPAKUTŌ
NAME: Hon'no (Instinct)
UNRELEASED APPEARANCE: Hon'no is a wakazashi with a black scabbard and orange wrappings. The sword is very simple, however the tsuba of the weapon has a very specific design that is important in the actual workings of the zanpakuto. Tsuba appearance
SPIRIT | SPIRIT WORLD: Hon'no is a large creature standing at about nine feet tall. It is not particularly intelligent nor does it have deep thoughts. It is purely a creature of instinct. Hon'no does not speak, nor does he need to; he and Kakusa have a form of telepathy that allows them to communicate without words, simply an understanding. Where Hon'no lives is the definition of the weapon, a great mountain with the peak high in the sky above the brown clouds. This mountain range is representing the rise and fall, the two ways, in this case, Fight or Flight. This mountain range is where they train and do battle. Hon'no has the same weapon, but holds it in his right hand whereas Kakusa holds his weapon in his left.
RELEASE PHRASE: Call them, Hon'no
RELEASE APPERANCE: Upon release, Hon'no splits into two different weapons. One weapon is known as "Tatakai" (Fight) which is held in the right hand while the other is known as "Furaito" (Flight) which is held in the left hand. These two weapons act with one another and neither can be used at the same time. They are both the legnths of wakazashi and have jagged edges (which is a reference to the natural instinct these weapons tap into). They have brown wrappings and the handles make a 90 degree turn at the bottom. Img from Ryuseimaru of Deviantart.
ABILITIES: These swords tap into the natural instincts of every conscious creature. All creatures have instincts, something beyond reason that is a compulsion of theirs. These swords are able to tap into the instincts of everyone within a 50 yard radius around the target of these swords.
- Tatakai (Fight): The ability of the right handed sword begins when the weapon touches something, anything. Upon making contact with anything tangible, the object will be marked with the symbol that appeared on the tsuba. This is the mark of Hon'no. The mark will activate and cause everyone within a 50 yard radius to run towards this object. This can be used in a discriminating fashion, allowing allies to escape the effects of the sword. Anyone affected by this weapon will feel the need to challenge this object. Those with the will power to overcome the ability will still feel it, but have the restraint not to follow their instincts. This ability has some logical limits; marking a rock with this will be less effective than a person as a rock is not threatening. People are less effected if their logic is able to clearly stand in the way.
- Furaito (Flight): This is the ability of the left handed weapon in this pair. Much like the first a mark will appear with anything it touches (however only one mark from either sword can exist at a time, not to mention one mark must be released before another can be made). The difference is that those affected will be compelled to run from whatever it is that is marked. This is slightly more effective than Tatakai because of its ability to play off of human paranoia. This is not to say people will be fleeing from pebbles, but a large bolder will appear much more likely to roll down and smash you. Allies can feel many times more menacing towards enemies, and Kakusa has been known to use it to intimidate new people. Like the previous one, the effectiveness is based off of willpower and logical ability to feel this way.
