Live in your present, not your past
The air was calm and cool, as the wind passed through the trees and made a light whistle, giving the atmosphere a nice ring to it. The clouds were aimlessly drifting through the sky, shading various parts of the area as they passed through. It was on these days that Ryohei felt more relaxed than he had ever felt before, as it was not too hot and not too cold. “Its way too perfect today, many people will think that something is up.” Ryohei laughed at his bad attempt at a joke and sat on the bench where he spent most of his days, reading and thinking to himself, by himself. He did have a point though, with all the recent attacks that have been happening, it was pretty rare to have a day of peace.
Although it was a nice day, he wondered how long he was going to be outside until he had to go back to the barracks and finish his paperwork. But he was a little worried that he was slacking, after all he had only been a captain for two months. But seemed that ever since he was promoted to captain, he never had any time to himself. If he wasn’t on a mission, he was supposed to fill out paperwork, and vice versa. He was surprised that he was able to eat and sleep on his rigorous schedule. But he knew that this was all a part of being a shinigami, and without all of his training, he knew that he wouldn’t be as great as he was going to be, hopefully. He never really thought about life after his current position. At most, he thought that he was going to be a captain until he died of old age, something that his father had proclaimed to him all the time. Ryohei had the small thought of becoming the Captain-Commander, but quickly discarded the idea, thinking that he was far from becoming that powerful.
He walked through the Seireitei, waving and smiling at everyone who he made eye contact with, even with people he didnt know. It was part of his charm and because of that he was well respected among the community. He even took time out of his schedule to play with the children, sometimes all day. Though it made him sad, thinking that because of his new position he wasnt going to have time to do the things that he loves. But Ryohei wasnt one to dwell on things like that, always believing that thoughts of negativity lead to a negative life.
Ahead of him, he witnessed a little restaurant, realizing that he was quite thirsty. He looked up into the sky and smiled to himself. "I guess one cup of tea couldnt hurt." The new captain eagerly walked into the Establishment, sat down and ordered himself a cup of tea.
