Tokomaru Shi'Kuyo, Kidōshū Commander

SPIRITUAL PRESSURE ^IMMENSE | At the power equivalent to higher tier captains Shi'Kuyo's spiritual pressure was realized after centuries of kidō studies. The constant drain of spell casting, practicing new spells until his body gave out then, perfecting those spells once he recovered made his reiryoku and reiatsu alike, rich and thick. Soon he took notice that each kidō training session he had would last a little longer or go a little harder than the last. His soul grew strong from the strain and 'stress-testing' and after long he had reiatsu equal to that of the Goteijuusantai's best Captains. What is likely most impressive, or frightening about his reiatsu is that it has reached this pedigree without the realization of bankai.

Euphoric Fissure ^PASSIVE | When unchecked Shi'Kuyo's reiatsu surfaces, leaving the closest thing to joy and happiness one can force unto another being; pleasure. His reiatsu smothers, forcing a release of endorphins and dopamine in the brains of all encompassed. Resistance is possible based on vying reiatsu but if left affected the releases of these chemicals in the brain will continue and intensify until the body begins to spasm involuntarily and the those affected are no longer able to control their motor functions let alone concentrate.

PERCEPTION ^EXPERT | So much time spent in the demon arts drew away from his abilities elsewhere. To date, Shi'Kuyo's perfection lacks and it can take time for him to properly access an opponent's attack, unlike his brother. His experience, especially the post-graduation formative years in the Nibantai, along with age has helped curb this area of lack. Still, most of his Goteijuusantai Taichō counterparts would likely out-class him in this area.

SPIRITUAL CONTROL ^PERFECTED | When it comes to the finesse and efficiency of manipulation of reiatsu and reiryoku the Commander can only be matched by a select few, a select one actually, and her kidō needs work. His suppression of his reiatsu and reiryoku was the first skill he ever honed, laying the ground work for all arts he would embrace as a shinigami and in what rank of importance he would embrace them. He is able to detect spiritual presences far and wide only those who have also perfected their spiritual control have a chance of escaping his 'sight'. Not only if he able to identify alien reiatsu but his memory for them is massive. At its limit his detection abilities allow him to ascertain whether or not a being is on the same plane (Soul Society, Mortal, Hueco Mundo) as himself. He cannot instantly pinpoint their location but chase them down starting from any distance granted they are on the same plane.

KIDŌ ^PERFECTED | Before the disappearance of his Commander Minamoto Sakura, Shi'Kuyo deemed himself the premiere kidō user of Soul Society with only one potential superior in terms of pure skill and knowledge of the art. Now, at the helm of the Kidō Corps. he has no peer, no rival, no superiors in regards to the demon arts. There is no spell he has not tempered and no casting method he has not integrated into his library.  In addition to the standard offensive hado and bakudō barriers Shi'Kuyo has perfected his dominion over their more specialized subtypes; Fū and Gisei Hadō as well as Kaidō. Even the restricted and forbidden arts have long since become fodder for him, playthings for his imagination. Now, he looks to create new applications of the demon arts beyond such direct spell-casting.

Spirit Way Resilience ^PASSIVE | Kido study at its core is nothing if not equal parts trial, error, and repetition. Having mastered every kidō known to Soul Society Shi'Kuyo has, on literally thousands of occasions injured himself with his own spells. Particularly in the form of explosions, which all kidō have the potential to do if malformed or mishandled. The result is a tried and true resilience his soul demonstrates from even the most devastating of kidō-based attacks as well as many kinds of explosive attacks  non-kidō in nature.

AGILITY ^EXPERT | While his agility was once barely less sloppy than his hakuda, his agility is now still, barely less sloppy than his hakuda. Given his hakuda is far cry from it once was, it tracks that agility improved as well. Reflexes solid, though his nautral movement speed could use some work. His precision spirit control allows him to move great distances even with a lesser understanding of hohō, granted this is done somewhat inefficiently.


ZANJUTSU ^NOVICE | To have achieved such prowess in his hakuda, spirit control, and kidō while keeping his agility and perception skills to a relative par is nothing short of astounding. However, these gifts came at a cost; the neglect of not only his zanjutsu skills, but his zanpakutō in general. To date Shi'Kuyo has not achieved the final release, nor is he aware of the name of his zanpakutō. This was a choice he made believing pursing his releases to be a wasted effort given the apparent random abilities zanpakutō develop. Instead of devoting himself to a 'wildcard' ability he chose to ignore it and hone in on kidō and the other arts he postulate and strategize with in that moment.

HAKUDA ^MASTER | If his stint in the Nibantai taught him anything, its that anyone can master anything with enough time. If you are punched int he face one thousand times, by the end of it you will know many ways to dodge, parry and counter many different punches. This is the basic mechanic of how a gifted spell-weaver became a devastating hand to hand combatant. His years losing fights in the academy and a fear of becoming too reliant on kidō spurned Shi'Kuyo to increase his skills in hand to hand combat should he ever find himself with no weapons and/or sealed reiryoku, which was more likely as a precaution with kidō skills like his. With commonplace Kickboxing and Muy Thai being the only martial arts he had formal training in Shi'Kuyo has integrated other moves from numerous other styles over the decades, forming an amalgam fighting style brawler in nature that emphasizes hard strikes backed by monstrous physical strength and using the opponents movements against them. His hakuda is one of his best kept secrets and given his outward status as an unparalleled kidō anyone who closes into his striking range thinking he cannot hold his own in close distance combat will be cause unawares.

Syllabolic Conversion ^{Unnumbered Seal Kidō} | A complicated but high-yield binding spell of the Fū sub-type. The user places a seal on themselves or another and the result allows the sealed target to replace incantations in their entirety with vocalization or other spoken word, this replacement includes spell number and spell name. This replacement comes with the caveat that whatever takes place of the incantation must have the same number of syllables as the incantation or more. Because this seal does not make kidō stronger or decrease incantation lengths it uses very little reiryoku and has a very long duration lasting until the seal is removed.

Plane Step ^{Amalgam Art} | Very much like the marriage of hakuda and kidō birthed the astounding techniques of Shunkō and Hanki, the union of kidō and agility, namely shunpō, has created a new marvel. Created by Tokomaru Shi'Kuyo shortly after becoming Lieutenant Commander. 'Plane Step' combines the rhythmic and pulsing energy releases of shunpō and augments them with refined kidō energy similar in structure to the energy of the senkaimon gates the Kidōshū are responsible for that transports shinigami to and from mortal realm. This specific kidō energy is carefully infused into the energy of the flash step and dispersed from the feet in a normal stepping fashion. The result is a stepping ability that allows one to traverse to potentially any of the other realms in seconds. The most amazing part being that full control over this step allows the user to choose not just the realm the step takes them to, but where in the realm.

Note: Though this technique is equal parts kidō and shunpō it is still governed in its efficiency by spirit control just the same as its component-arts. That said all three arts are fundamental in its application and thus this technique cannot be executed unless the practitioner is a master in all three arts. Once all three arts are mastered the technique is usable but likewise using it without a perfect understanding of all three arts will cause specific dangerous reactions.

• Unperfected kidō users will find they are unable to use reiryoku/reiatsu for a small time after a plane step.
  
• Those without perfect spirit control will find this technique uses a monstrous amount of energy.
  
• Using this technique without a perfected understanding of shunpō won't allow the user to control where their plane step takes them.

Although he is a mere expert in the art of flash steps his understanding of the other two arts and his creation of the technique allowed Shi'Kuyo to circumvent that limitation and use the plane step, but not without serious drawbacks. Until his shunpō is mastered, upon using plane step, Shi'Kuyo will suffer all three effects listed above.

Skill Sight ^{Spiritual Control Technique} | Upon perfection of his spiritual control Shi'Kuyo found his sense of spiritual detection was developing a second sight, one sensitive not to light but to reishi, reiryoku and all energy forms and applications derivative of the two. One application of this sight was his recognition of both the reiryoku and reiatsu of others in greater detail. Refinement of this 'sight' gave way to his ability to recognize the prominent skills and techniques of others based on the 'texture' of their reiryoku as every skill advancement and technique acquired sculpts one's reiryoku further. What's more is that this sight allows him to sense/see the the energy in the atmosphere in the case of area-of-effect techniques as well as duration techniques and distinguish the soul that created them.

Note: This ability is not limited to skills of shinigami. It does not grant one the knowledge of knowing how a technique works nor the name of it unless Shi'Kuyo has the technique himself or has encountered it before. It does however show what skill a technique is derived from.

Haste Heal ^{Kidōshū Kaidō} | A field healing technique to be used in combat situations. Kaidō and healing in general is a time consuming and sensitive process. This kidō serves to effectively augments the soul's capacity to heal on its on accord. The user funnels refined kaidō energy directly into the target in a surplus. From there the kaidō circulates about the target's body relieving pain and restoring reiryoku so that the body might speed up its own healing faculties. Due to the lack of medical knowledge required to heal directly, this spell only serves to bolster one's own natural healing ability. Taxing compared to most spells the haste heal being the energy equivalent of roughly two kidō in the nineties. This kidō runs its course in within three posting rounds depending on the damage done. Open to all members of the Kidōshū.

Note: Uniquely, when Shi'Kuyo uses this kaidō the target is also flushed with the release of dopamine and endorphins in the brain akin to the effects of his passive reiatsu ability.

Grand Brand Blessing ^{Fū (Custom)} | A new seal developed by Tokomaru Shi'Kuyo shortly after his rise to Kidōshū Commander. A brand is applied to the skin of the target with kidō sealed inside. Upon activation of the brand by the target the kidō is unleashed at full power instantaneously at no cost to the target. The brand may only 'holster' up to two spells at a time which are set by Shi'Kuyo. What's more is the brand allows for a direct line of communication between the brander and the branded, similar to tenteikūra where spoken word is transmitted directly to the mind of the person on the other end of the brand.

Note: Because the brand is powered by the residual energy the target gives off naturally by going through their day to day routines, it can only be used once per week, in character. This branding process is unique to the Kidōshū and can be removed remotely by Shi'Kuyo at any moment, leaving a permanent Kidōshū insignia scar in its wake.

Hot Box ^{Bakudō No. 97 (Custom)} | A dual function bakudō of varying sizes and shapes, the hot box is a barrier that acts as a container. After, entrapping a target the barrier becomes permeable from the outside to hadō containing and amplifying their destructive power roughly ten-fold. The brunt, if not whole of said destructive power is levied unto the target still inside. In example, a single shō fired into this barrier will create a raging torrent of destructive winds and concussive pressure beyond what a standard shō blast is capable of. Each reaction of the hot box is unique to hadō fired into it.
