NAME: YoshiroRACE: ShinigamiALIAS: Master Yoshi, Yoshiro Taichou, Old Man YoshiAGE: 812ALLIANCE: GoteijuusantaiAPPEARANCE: Yoshiro is very much an elder man as it could have been guess from his age. Despite this, he manages to stay in peak physical condition although it is hard to see through his clothing. His shining bald head is offset by his full beard and mustache colored a snow white. The skin is like a thick leathery hide, body armored honed over centuries of hardship. Standing under six foot, his hunched posture has him just above five foot.
Typical of most shinigami taichou, he wears the standard Shihakushō with his haori over top of it. However, he doesn't place his arms into the sleeves as he feels it restricts his movements. The inner lining of his haori is purple, the lining being stitched with an ice blue thread. The most notable thing about Yoshiro is his dark sunglasses. Often mistaken to be a simple fashion statement, Yoshiro happens to be blind. He wears the dark sunglasses to hide his completely white eyes.PERSONALITY: Yoshiro is a bit of a hermit or a monk. He prefers to stay to himself, straying away from crowds and parties. To him, people tend to lose their identity crowds, something he feared since he was a young lad. He strove to make a name for himself, and make a name he has by becoming the Sanbantai Taichou of the Goteijuusantai. His hard work and dedication to both training his body, despite his obvious disability being blind. Being blind while a disability, isn't something that can be considered a weakness. Any adversity is another opportunity to prove yourself is is his outlook. There are those that would back down, and those are the ones with weaknesses. However, he isn't reckless in tackling the problems at hand, merely that he refuses to back down without giving his all.
As Taichou, he is known to be more caring of those that approach him, giving any in his squad his ear if they request it. His wisdom is valued, and he doesn't shy from sharing it with those that wish to hear it. Trustworthy and stalwart, Yoshiro is one of the more approachable Taichou in the Gotei.
HISTORY: Yoshiro's history is the tale of a weak man with a lot of heart, putting his all into overcoming anything in his path. No matter what the obstacle, he would take it in stride, hurdling over it or going through it if it was the only option he could take. Born with the short end of the stick, Yoshiro's eyes suffered from a strange ailment. Sight became a figment of his imagination, something he never had the opportunity to use. Fortunately, he was born this way, so he never grew attached to being able to see the world around him. His parents were very careful with raising him, knowing the world was nothing more than darkness for him. Being shinigami themselves, they gave him the best they could, but they were also taken from him at a young age by none other than hollows. Much too young to know who is parents were, he was given to a family within the Rukongai. They became his new family, and he grew to love them as his own without knowing anything else.
Shortly after maturing into a young adult by shinigami standards, he began displaying abnormal levels of spiritual pressure for those in the Rukongai. It wasn't abnormal for the event to occur, only that majority in the Rukongai could never achieve this. He took it as his gift, wanting to place his all into controlling it like the shinigami of the Gotei. Of course, none believed he would ever be able to grab hold of his dreams. They mocked him, verbally abusing him for his blindness.
This continued even after joining the Shino Academy, his classmates constantly reminding him of what they called a weakness. Yoshiro vowed to prove them wrong, and he gradually began to do so with his merits. However, during many of the sparring sessions, Yoshiro was consistently the loser. His blind eyes did hold him back, even if he could navigate the world around him well enough through feeling and sound. It wasn't enough for him to simply be average, he wanted more, and pushed himself to further his "vision". His growing skill in seeing the world around him allowed him to tackle those issues with handling combat situations.
However, his peers continued to mock him throughout his years serving the Gotei after graduation. It became less frequent, but only because he began to stick to his own devices. He participated in squads as instructed, but his free time was spent on his own practicing his martial skills. They may have been content with kicking someone they believed under them, though he would show them they were wrong in the years. Eventually, he became Fuku-taichou of his squad, the Juuichibantai. With his new position, the mocking stopped, rather he stopped hearing of it. There were some that began to look up to him, but many doubted his ability to hold the position. Challenged nearly daily, he remained undefeated for years. It wasn't until a loss came due to forfeit did his record go untouched. Showing compassion for a bystander injured by his ability, he refused to continue the fight. His position of Fuku-taichou was taken from him, but he gained something greater.
A taichou position went vacant due to the war against the Hohlreich, and he was volunteered for the position by his Taichou at the time. Originally, he wished to allow the position to go to the current Fuku-taichou, though this only made the other Taichou want him more. He has since worked even harder to honor their decision. Yoshiro grew old in his position, doing everything to defend the Gotei and the human world against all threats.
