NAME: Seiryū, Itada
ALIAS: Seiryū-dono; Lord Itada; Nanabantai Taichō; Captain; Dragons bane; Indomitable Dragon; World Eater
RACE: Shinigami
AGE: 322
AFFILIATION: Seireitei; Gotei 13; House Seiryū
APPEARANCE: Itada is the epitome of an attractive, reverential male. Akin to wine, age has only done the matured veteran well as his physical form appears in its mid to late twenty’s. A mane of lush hair, colored a deep raven, its style is somewhat wild, yet tamed beyond repute. Eyes, narrow and dark, a constant sense of solemnity or dullness resides in their irises. While handsome to all female occupants, and a man of stature, Itada expresses a refined boredom in his facial realm that’s only quenched during the most serious of situations—namely combat. Strong jawline complements a wrinkleless visage, adding to the overall allure that is Itada.
Standing at a humble fix-foot, two and weighing shy of one-hundred and seventy-four pounds, his build is average as his bodily features are toned, showing decades of training and craving.
A captain of the Gotei 13, Itada dons the traditional Shihakushō, nonetheless, the ends of his sleeves and pant-legs are tucked into armored inserts respectively, creating modest billowing efforts upon inspection. His Haorir—the symbol of his stature—never leaves his form as the insignia of his squadron rests on its fabric. Sleeveless, its fitted to be worn with or without the armor he fashions when willed. Additionally, the Captain fashions a pair of thick black gloves as well, for added grip when preferred.
PERSONALITY: Embedded in the ideals and disciplines of his Noble blood, Itada is quite the aristocratic envoy. Drowned in the laws of the Seireitei and their teachings, failure to comply will result in his instant attention, and according force. He fears not punishing his own if their actions threatening the livelihoods of his fellow soul residents or the traditions and teachings of the Gotei, itself. This coupled with the superiority rite that comes with being Clan Leader of the fabled Seiryū garnishes the perception of being boastful and arrogant. Nonetheless, beyond the thoughts of others, he fazed little by commentary and accepts all charges without hesitation; his performance is rarely hindered by emotions.
While a father, he lacks the customary mannerisms that come with such a responsibility; doing what he feels is required as opposed to advocated. Feeling emotions compromise logic, Itada tries well to keep them separate for allowing such to intervene surely would cloud judgment, at least in his gallant eyes.
Nonetheless, his lack of an emotional connect doesn’t take away from his honor and the respect he has for his peers and superior officers. His sole obligation for living resides in the security of his home and his family and those two avenues seemingly supersede his need to stay impassive. This at time conflicts with his assumed detachment.
Overly calm and analytical, rarely can others intimidate or rouse Itada beyond what he wants to reveal, making him ideal for conflict and horrid for an opposition who relies on reading their opponent. A closed book, locked willingly, his secrets will remain as such and his personality won’t falter.
HISTORY: Itada’s life was mapped well before he was conceived and realized well after birth. The Son of Keiji and Mikino, the Honored family of the Seireitei’s wealthiest and one of its strongest—spiritually---noble houses, the boy’s destiny wasn’t his own.
Education, religion, traditions, these factors of life were etched into his conscious mind and without mutiny as the dark-haired heir was expected to uphold not only his clansmen in importance, but the militant onuses that would come in the near future. By convention, the heir of the Seiryū would enter into the Gotei and take the position of Taichō. It was treated as law and all efforts to certify its happening would be taken, and were implicated into Itada’s life.
From even the youngest of age, the boy’s potential was projected through his startling, almost frightening level of spiritual energy. Dense, dark and filled with unspoken rage, the depths of Itada’s spirit was seen through his aggressive, and at times, volatile power that manifested in waves, not ripples. A decade alone was spent safeguarding Itada and forcing his power to subside for fear of its release threatened many. Caged like an animal, the infant dragon’s fangs receded for some time.
With this belligerent and seemingly inhumane “tutelage” to force Itada’s power into his own chambers completed, the Academy called to his attention. Entered immediately into Advance classes, his natural talents and raw propensity won him many battles, and accelerated courses, as well.
Kunpuu, Izumi, the fabled Soul Master and present instructor at the Academy took it upon herself to give the boy additional lessons; ones more harsh then those taught in class. Being one of the very few to perfect the art of controlling spiritual prowess, her talents were ideal for Itada’s condition and with her aid, his advancement in skill amassed even quicker than projector.
Having graduated early and instantly given the title of Fukataichō of the Seventh division—beneath his father—Itada was hurled into the world of conflict. Decades of warfare and mental poverty stained the boy as on a daily basis, he was met with life or death situations. Birthdays, holidays and social affairs became nothing more than a obstruction and distraction and with time, his body and mind hardened, The transition from an infant lizard to a mature dragon was upon him and with the coming of age, assigned by his clan’s traditions, Itada was forced to enter combat with Keiji, his father. The prize? Clan Leader.
The battle was fierce and long-winded, however, in the end Itada prevailed using several techniques he developed on his own, and his father? Dead in a pool of his own blood. Civilized on the surface, the Seiryū were truly dragons—monsters bred from and for war. He felt no remorse, for years of struggle forced Itada to seemingly turn his need for emotional attachments off. With this victory, he soon became the Clan Leader, and the new Captain of the Nanabantai.
Having faced and defeated in combat a number of praiseworthy adversaries, including several kenpachi and Taichō alike, his name and status grew incalculably within the Soul Society’s walls and even past those. A legend pulled directly from Myth, Itada—or Dragons Bane—continued his conquest in the realm of material and personal successes. His started his own family, wedding a noble by the name of Megumi and giving birth to his own son, the next and rightful heir to the clan Seiryū. However, this was short-lived and due to an unforeseen illness, Megum succumbed and died a few number of years into their child’s life. This tragic event affected Itada more and forced the restraints he used before to surface again.
With all his power, all his fame, he couldn’t save the woman he loved and forced to raise his son alone, the task of mother was passed to his servants. To this day, he remains the Nanabantai Taichō and is heavily regarded as one of the strongest Seiryū produced in recorded history as his tales could be written in several novels before scratching the surface—the legend of a war hero continues.
