KYOKO KUSANAGI
At the retort sent back at her, all the young shinigami replied with was a simple raise of one eyebrow. Kyo knew he was only kidding, but she rarely heard any form of humor coming from the Lieutenant. He seemed to come here quite often on various odd jobs as well, not that she was one to mind such a thing. Even so, that didn't mean that she was allowed to start slacking off on her work. Not in the slightest. However for the meantime she had much more pressing matters to attend to, one matter of which involving the Lieutenant that was currently within her office. Sure some of the other divisions had been taking it easy over the past few weeks, more than normal actually but she guessed it was due to the supposed time of peace they were having within the Soul Society. Not that she believed any of it, it just seemed to be a calm period before the chaos and fighting began again, something she was prepared for. But that didn't mean she wanted to start fighting again, it would just be a pain to deal with for her; not to mention the rest of the Squad. Right now she really didn't want to have to deal with fighting breaking out, but she very much doubted that this fake peace of theirs would last for very much longer, and just that fact alone made her uneasy.
Kyoko remained seated as the elder male began his explanation of the recent events, a certain indefinable cast to her expression that couldn't be read currently. She knew not everyone was fond of those who lived in Rukongai, and yet at the same time she wasn't happy about those who put them down. Having lived there for quite a major part of her life, that district was like a home to her, even when she visited there on the odd and very rare day off. Hearing the slight tone of disgust present in the elder's voice, Kyo simply as she always did forced herself not to react to the tone. Although nothing about her posture changed, or facial expression either. Yes there were those who hated shinigami, thanks to the lives they lived instead of those within Rukongai, and Kyo knew that. She had been on both sides so to speak, although her duty now rested within the Nibantai, she still believed that not everywhere in Rukongai was bad. And that with help, it could become more peaceful than it was currently, unlike this false peace they had presently. She did wonder how others could be so happy about it, but she kept quiet, after all it wasn't her place to say such things.
Listening further, it didn't take Kyo long to get an idea as to what was just going on around the various districts of Rukongai, and if she was right. It wasn't only the district Hisashi had spoken of, but her own former home of one as well. This certainly wasn't looking very good. As the Lieutenant continued to explain, the white haired shinigami went through various reasons and possibilities in her mind. Academy students alone weren't too much of a problem to deal with alone, but if former Shinigami were joining ranks with them it could prove to be quite the problem if they let this go too far. Nodding as the tall male finished for a short time, Kyo then took her chance to speak, sitting up fully within the office chair she used before doing so. "A wise choice that you didn't. We don't need things getting out of hand." Stated the 2nd Division Lieutenant calmly, folding her arms across her body as she said this. Yes there were those who would ignore such warnings, but she was not that kind of person. Being curious as a child always lead her into highly dangerous situations, however that certainly wasn't going to stop her in the slightest, just because others said something was dangerous; didn't mean she was going to listen was it?
