ZEHN RITTER BITTER TITTER;

-- BOOM-CHAKKA-LAKKA
At its core, Zehn Ritter is a medaillion not unlike a Quincy Cross. It is a five-point star. Each star pillar had two parts, thus making the five-star design actually a ten-point design, contained within five arrows.
The Quincy are stubborn folk. They were born into this world out of a need to fight Hollows. Unlike the Shinigami, they mercilessly execute and exterminate; they do not purge the souls of their victims. Quincy developed many techniques to make up for the frail, human bodies. One of it is Ransotengai, a technique that allows older Quincy to keep on fighting. Zehn Ritter is a tool that was created with the same mindset. It allows Quincy who can no longer fight on their own to fight on, wielded by the Quincy in possession of this well-kept artifact.
Zehn Ritter [Ten Knights] contains the power of ten Quincy knights.
Every Ritter contained in the amulet has a different story. They have led different lives and they have died different deaths. But all of them shared the will to live on, further aiding the Quincy population in their never-ending struggle. Utilizing a technique that transformed their knowledge and skills of Reishi manipulation, they were transformed into puppets.
However. Some things don't live on. The puppets require the user's mind and skills to operate. They're not sentient and are controlled by a variation of the Ransotengai technique. Ransotengai is a mentally executed technique, meaning there is a limit to the amount of movements the user can comprehend.
Past wearers of the Zehnkreuz have only been able to utilize up to three puppets at a time. However, Ville Le'Valier's Ransotengai abilities exceed the realm of genius. Like a puppet master, she can control up to ten puppets at a time -- a full set -- bringing to the battlefield not only her own skills but the skills of knight who have walked the path of service before her.
