ALIAS: ----
RACE: Shinigami.
AGE: Two-Hundred, Fifteen (215).
AFFILIATION: ----
DIFFICULTY SETTING: Hard.
APPEARANCE: Not one to dress overly flashy, Sora usually chooses to don clothing that does not overly restrict his movements, instead preferring to be able to move around with ease and fluidity. As such, barring special fighting circumstances, he usually does not choose to wear armor, whether light or heavy. He simply dons the clothing that is customary to all Shinigami: a high collard black kimono, often times left parted, and black pants with white bandaged tape tied securely around both of his ankles.
Physicality wise, Sora stands at roughly the size and weight of an average man; he is neither bulky or scrawny, but well filled out. He sports somewhat long ebony mane, often times curling upwards or to the side at their ends, which is roughly shoulder length when unkempt - if not tied into a ponytail. His skin is a light brown, though not too dark - his mixed heritage showing through with the hue of his skin. His eyes, cold and calculating, do well to shed a light on all the things he experienced over the years. With his light green eyes often times narrowed, Sora usually bares a nonchalant - almost bored even - disposition on his countenance.
PERSONALITY: A very stoic individual at his core, Sora is never one to allow his feelings or emotions to cloud his judgement, regardless of the circumstances. He prides himself on retaining this composure, and makes it a point to maintain this - helping aid his already logical and pragmatic approach to life. He doesn't believe in depending on theories and ideas, but rather focuses on things he knows to be concrete. Because of this he is a realist by nature, leaving him unable to accept things that tend to defy reality, but at the same time allowing him to make his decisions based off facts and not propaganda or misconceptions.
However, this is not to say that Sora is incapable of falling victim to the many vices of life. As a man, he is often times easily distracted by the beauty of women and is more than willing to chase after them playfully. He lets this playful, charming, side of himelf take over to remain loose, as opposed to always remaining serious - but knows how to separate it and become stern, if the situation calls for it. In addition, he is extremely loyal to those that he considers his kin and is more than willing to defend them with his life.
Because of this he doesn't take disloyalty particularly well, leading him to dish out harsh penalties to those that betray him. His fellow shinigami are not exempt from this; betraying him or the division borders treason in his eyes, leaving only one option from there - death. In battle, Sora chooses to take the tactical route as opposed to fighting brashly, and is more inclined to use strategies in his fights, but is more than capable of holding his own without them. Though lesser known among his peers, Sora is a noted and professional liar; unlike pathological liars, he chooses how and when it is appropriate however, and usually chooses to mix a healthy dose of manipulation alongside with it. Despite his many facades, deep down he has his own agenda - what that is, exactly, is still unclear at this point.
HISTORY: Darkness. Empty, cold blistering darkness. It was the first thing he saw upon 'waking up'; there was no happy beginning, just the solemn loneliness that came with having no one. At first it was difficult, having to grow accustomed to living, breathing, and caring for himself on his own, but eventually he adapted. The darkness helped him in this sense and he embraced it, not even truly understanding the connection it would eventually have on his life. He had no parents, no friends; it was just him from the beginning. Because of this Sora had to learn how to live on his own, developing different means for attaining the many things he needed to stay alive.
Lies. Manipulation. Stealing - they were all part of the package. Even as a child he moved from town to town, using his gifts of persuasion and lies to keep himself alive and his stomach full with food. Having witnessed all that there was to witness by living such a life - greed, sex, even death - Sora grew detached. He erected a wall within his mind, separating his true self from the person he had to be to survive. It was through this that he eventually met the people that would eventually go on to change his life in more ways than one. Though he would not ever dare to admit it, even that relationship was tainted with a brush of manipulation and lies, with Sora having seen an opportunity with them and doing whatever was in his power to grasp it.
He took advantage of the generosity and empathy the family showered him with by showing them a side of himself that wasn't real, in hopes that they wouldn't be able to bare turning him - still a child - away to fend for himself. It worked and they eventually adopted him, giving him a family for the first time in his entire life. Through this he met Sojiro - their other adopted son - and they grew close, with both of them being alike in many ways, almost as if they were two branches from the same tree. However, while Sojiro always sought for more, especially when it came to establishing himself as 'royal' despite his upbringing, Sora was the complete opposite. He did not care for getting his name known throughout Seireitei or becoming something that he was not.
While his brother continued to strive to reach those goals, Sora, now a young adult, left the Koshitsu family. He went back to moving from town to town, coming up with new identities and lives with each one he visited. It was only after hearing his brother's name making waves throughout Seireitei that he chose to enter the Shin'ō Academy. Though not book smart in the least bit, Sora managed to ascend through the Academy with relative ease, having long since grown accustomed to manipulating and shielding his somewhat extensive reiatsu. Despite this, he kept a relatively low profile; training religiously and relentlessly on his own, and when it came to showing the instructors what he was capable of, choosing to downplay his abilities and strengths.
Through all of this he entered the Gotei 13 (At a rank far lower than what he truly deserved) and fought alongside them in the many conflicts and battles. He gained exponential experience because of all the fighting and the bloodshed, and eventually he grew into the hardened, stoic individual that he is to this day. He continued to hone his abilities in private over the many decades and even centuries of his life, but never truly displayed or showed the fruits of his labor to anyone, not even Sojiro. Eventually he left the Gotei 13 altogether, choosing to return to his previous life for one reason or another, but never completely giving up his roots as a shinigami.
Only upon hearing the news of Sojiro being named Captain Commander of all of the Gotei 13 did Sora finally stir and leave the shadows and darkness that he embraced as a home.
