Nanabantai: The Synopsis

7^TH DIVISION

Nanabantai (七番隊, Lit: “Squad 7”) houses the members of the Seventh Division and follows the traditional organization of the Gotei 13. A squadron drowned in the spoils and hardships of the Noble Families of the Seireitei, the lifeblood of this division stems from those who similarly draw life from their own imperial blood. However, exceptions of poverty in stature have been made over the course of its inception due to principled and incredible circumstances.  

The Seventh Division, since its initiation, has been tasked with the internal regulation and safeguard of the Noble clans and families. The equivalence to the Soul King’s Royal Guard, it’s this division primary objective to ensure the safety and integrity of the ruling bodies given their influence and power extends well into the roots many political, economic and military parties, such as that of the Central 46.  

Since the inauguration of the Gotei, the title of Taichō has always been held by one of the clan’s Leading figures; this is seen in its current hierarchy as Itada—head of House Seiryū and the Seireitei’s strongest family—holds the title of Captain. This tradition has never in history been overturned and the probability of this happening in the future is thin.  

Due to the rigorous requirements used to evaluate and introduce Shinigami to this Division, its numbers ranged among the smallest. However, the degree of skill and fame vastly exceed the bulk of the Gotei in whole. Superb training and benefits derive from both nobility and military inducements, those who are accepted into the Nanabantai are reassured with many assets both of the monetary and intrinsic value.
